You would have to favor Patterson, but it would be a dangerous fight for him.

If I am Patterson's manager, then Galento has to get the #1 ranking, if he wants a shot at the title!

This fight would look like Floyd Patterson vs George Chuvalo, on Feb 1 1965, or Floyd vs Oscar Bonavena on Feb 14 1972, Patterson won both fights by unanimous decision. Tony Galento would have met the same fate as those two facing Floyd Patterson. Patterson has the faster hands, and Chuvalo and Bonavena could not put him on the canvas.

Galento probably hit harder than Chuvalo or Bonavena, but I broadly agree with your analysis.

Patterson in his prime was too fast and skilled to lose against this bunch of fat bar brawler. Floyd would knock him te **** out

Probably similar to Louis fight. Maybe a knick down but it ends with A TKO victory for floyd

Patterson would fight much, much more passively than Louis did

I am frankly not sure that Galento didn't hit harder than Marciano either!

He is one of the few examples of a contender that made it on little more than power.

Probably but Galento would still tire late rounds

Galento is strangely underrated here. Patterson will attempt to get inside while whiffing lefts at Galentos iron chin and subtle defense. When inside he will be met by a tricky operator with a heavy left hook to the chin and body.

Patterson was a terribly chinny fighter equipped with the tragic quality that is his unbendable will to fight. And he will be hit a plenty by the sneaky Galento. I would say an upset by the definition of the word but Galento must be favored by the sensible man.

    Patterson, probably by late KO.
