PAC Now Too Good to be True?

Manny Pacquiao has received some back door compliments in the form of accusations that he is taking steroids.

These accusations first came from Floyd Mayweather Snr. After Pacquiao's destruction of Ricky Hatton, Mayweather Snr, who had continuously derided Pacquiao's skills as "amateurish", decided that rather than giving Manny any credit he would charge that he's taking steroids. He told Grand Rapids Press:

"My honest Opinion? I believe he's on some type of supplements. I'm convinced about a lot of (boxers)," Mayweather Sr. said. "That's what they're doing right now. Everybody should be checked a little bit more thoroughly. Sometimes people know what's going on but they ain't saying nothing...I don't think he can beat Lil' Floyd with steroids in him or not," Mayweather Sr. said. "He don't have that kind of talent. He don't have that kind of skill, whatever he has in him."

These accusations are simply baseless but unfortunately not surprising for the completely graceless Mayweather Snr. Even prior to the Hatton fight, Pacquiao's p4p worth had been proven beyond all doubt. Mayweather Snr just seems unable to acknowledge skill in any boxer whose style isn't based on the same defensive, puritanical approach he taught his son.

What is more concerning, though, are the recent comments made by Kermit Cintron. Speaking on RingTalk he opined:

"I just think that, um, I honestly think he's taking something. He's taking something cause a lot of fighters when they come up in weight like that...that's forty-something pounds, I believe, and he just looks as ripped as Bruce Lee. A lot of people that come up in weight like that, they usually look, like, not as ripped as he is..they hold a lot of water weight..He's taking something, that's for sure. I don't know what it is, whatever it is, it's not coming up in the drug test...No-one 112 pounds comes all the way up to 147 and looks like that. He did it slowly, not all at once, but to look like that, he's taking something..people that come up in weight like that, they just don't look like that, they look soft, they don't look like they did fighting at the weight when they first started - ripped. And, um, I dunno, for him to look like that, It's definitely questionable."

It is really pointless to even address such ignorant comments. Someone should explain to Cintron that Pacquio grew up in extreme poverty and turned pro at the age of 16 as an underweight kid.

The real lesson to draw from all this: Pacquiao can no longer be denied. The " Manny is Hype" crowd have been vocal for a long time. They've interpreted his aggressive style as " one dimensional", his powerful left hand as the absence of a jab, and his defeats long ago as relevant today. But there is not much left to say. The destruction of Miguel Cotto was as good a performance as you will ever see in boxing. Unlike was the case with De la Hoya and Hatton, here there could be no excuses. Cotto was not a "weight drained corpse", nor was he an overrated brawler . Cotto is a world class welterweigh and Manny destroyed him. Now they say he must be on steroids.

That is why this Olympic style blood testing is useless. No one was detected of roiding using blood test. Urine testing actually caught some cheats but blood testing didn't. So basically this blood testing is just a clueless demand from Floyd. Urine testing will catch more roids than blood testing.

Which is more of a reason for Pac to the test to proof everyone who thinks he on something wrong, but yet every excuse in the book comes up to why he can't. Which only makes the accusations look true.

Pacman already said yes several times. But Floyd won't still fight him next.

Floyd: I never said Pacquiao is next, please don't put words into my mouth.

Roger: Floyd will not fight Pacquiao next.
