He is stylistic nightmare already when it comes to negotiating. I am not surprised Pacman finally choosed to fight a couple of lesser opponents for purses like 10-15 mln $ instead of getting stuck for months, without any guarantee that something comes out of it. After all, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

    - I think that is one of the determining factors in Mayweather not wanting it - his boxing longevity/quality of performance would take a massive hit.

    - I think he would win - but it would probably be his last fight.

  5. Marquez fought a Pacquiao as Pacquiao was starting to enter his prime.

    :patsch:patsch:patsch

In other words, Pac today is not the same Pac that fought Marquez.

    :deal:deal:deal

I'll bet you $1,000.00 that Pac KOs Marquez in a third fight at either 140 or 147.

The 1000$ question to the very looong essay is 'Is fmj man enough to step up the plate?'

there are also the intangibles, like heart, grit, determination, balls. look at rigo, the guy has obvious skills but once he got tagged, started to run.

Floyd has many intagibles. When he has gotten hurt he has responded immediately . Watch Shane and Corley. Those shots in those 2 fights is where the most damage was done to him in his whole career. -Dragon that spits fireballs.

    Damn right it's timing.

Just like how Castillo, who is slower than Marquez timed Floyd and outlanded him in the first fight.

Nice post my man. People dance to Manny song because of his style of fighting, but none the less he is still a one dimensional fighter. Who has never faced a diverse fighter like Mayweather.

There is just not enough of a body of work to even give Mayweather a chance vs Manny. You can make an arguement he lost to Castillo in the first fight losing nearly every round from 5 on. ODLH was not that far form a victory and as mentioned Mosley had Floyd hurt the worst of his career.
You can watch Manny vs Hatton and you can see the difference in speed and how much more outclassed Ricky was vs Pac.

Floyd has never faced an offensive ATG that has the footwork and angles that Manny has making it even tougher for him. He always stayed away from fighters with unique styles and angles that also posessed power and that is for a reason.

At this point in time Manny is much faster, much more committed, more dangerous and the kicker is the right hook. You cannot prepare for this because you cannot find a sparring partner to emmulate his right hook and you cannot see it coming. Mosley giving him trouble with the jab downstairs and right up top is what he would be dealing with all fight.

Floyd is a great boxer but Manny is an ATG with power and speed not seen in this generation and of the two fighters Manny is the one that responds immediately to adversity without fail throwing 4-5 punch combinations making his opponent pay if he is hit.

Floyd had JMM come to a weight he never fought in his life and on top of it PBF paid to have a weight advantage to ensure being the bigger man facing a fighter who he knew would be uncomfortable and slow at a higher weight. On the flipside Manny has no problem doing what Floyd normally makes his opponents do and PAC not only accepts the height and weight disadvantage but still dominates.

Floyd finally would have to deal with Manny throwing even crisped as he would not have to punch up taking away some of his power. Manny by easy KO if it happens. Floyd could not win throwing as few punches as he does and this would take him out of his comfort range for too long a period and at his age it all spells disaster and he and his camp know this clearly.
