He should fight Garcia for the 140 linealship.
Holding linealship at 140/147/154 and almost all of the belts that counts would be sick and will be unparalleled for decades!

Way too many people caring about trinkets.

The fact some are applauding the idea of mayweather being 'middleweight champ' by beating cotto as some genuine historic achievement is the perfect window to the mind of mayweather fans. Style and hype over substance.

People wanting him to fight danny over porter so he can pick up a trinket at 140, when porter is the better and more dangerous fight. Typical.

Void should fight Golovkin for the 154 title, or Martinez, both with fight Void at 154, but Void will not fight them............

Would he not be the lineal middleweight champion if he fought cotto at middleweight and won? (Assuming Cotto beats martinez, which imo will not happen).

It would be an achievement to be the universally acknowledged best at 147, 2 belt world champion at 154 and hold the lineal middleweight championship at the same time... tbh to achieve that in a career would be very impressive.

Belts are thrown around today, but he would be THE MAN at all 3 weight classes however briefly.

Uh I just pointed out how Calzaghe was a two division champ at the same time !

And Henry Armstrong held 3 different world titles in 3 different weight classes at the same time !

It's a tremendous accomplishment. However, it comes with an asterik as the orgs disregarded their rules in order for it to happen.

Exactly. You can't complain about fans taking interest in trinkets and then rip fans for being interested in the lineal title. It's interesting though, Martinez will probably beat Cotto. However, if Cotto wins, Golovkin would probably get more props for fighting Cotto than Mayweather would.

    no one
    heres why.
because its against the rules to hold belts at the same time in 2 divisions, much less having the time to unify them when the guy fights 2 times a year. Other fighters get stripped for not defending their titles.
so basically you are giving him praise for sitting on half of his "unified belts" for almost 2 years ....... all he does is stall the division
so settle down nut hugger, he gets special treatment that allows him to do that

I know my history bro, I was there at Thomas and Mack when Calzaghe won but if u read the OP its being unfied and lineal champ. Calzaghe was not.

yes henry Armstrong had 3 lineal titles, crazy how u got to go back 100 years to find the lat person to do that. thats why its an achivemtn no matter what anybody says

Well let's hope Sergio beats Cotto so he can't blag it once again. If Sergio wins will Floyd still move up to 160? Erm nope.

That's the difference between the real ATG's and Floyd.

All the guy was doing is giving praise for his accomplishment so WTF is your problem? Why does a person have to be a nut hugger for congratulating a fighter? I don't get you people that go to every thread and troll thread just because you don't like a fighter. Grow up and quit acting like a sissy since a thread rub you the wrong way.
