You must be a father to have this type of patience for this guy, spelling it out for a guy who says Castillo is a complete fighter and Duran a brawler. :-(

I don't know if I will be a good father. :think

That's what having kids does to you:lol:

Believe me, if a younger version of myself was posting now, I wouldn't have the patience. I'd probably be banned right now.

Watch the first Duran Leonard fight, and you will see Duran and Leonard switch roles several times in the fight, at one moment
Leonard is playing the boxer and Duran is coming in wild then,
Leonard comes out ready to brawl and Duran starts moving backwards fighting technically,

Duran's image as a one dimensional brawler is completely undeserved in my opinion.

:rofl :rofl Floyd has one of the best jabs in boxing when he wants to use it. See Ricky Hatton round 9. Ability off the backfoot? Ok you've never seen a Floyd fight in your life.

Quick name one fighter that has ever outworked Floyd on the inside. Even with a hurt shoulder, Floyd was still getting the better of the him in the later rounds. Your whole premise is massively flawed, Floyd doesnt have a jab, cant fight off the back foot and doesnt have one of the best inside fighting games in boxing, which all 3 are his biggest strengths. Stop being a stupid noob and actually watch his fights from time to time.

Top 10 ATG at LW? How in the hell do you come to that conclusion? He fought there 4 times and nearly lost to Castillo(did in many's eyes). That is nowhere near top 10 material.

Well Brooklyn already spelled it out, but I just have to chime in and laugh at this ridiculous, uneducated nonsense.

I personally wish Floyd would fight more on the inside. He dominated Chavez, Hatton, Judah and Corley on the inside. He got his best punches of the night against Oscar on the inside. Even against Castillo he was able to hold his own on the inside even with a torn rotator cuff.

Floyd wouldnt beat Duran on the inside, but he would certainly hold his own when that occasion arised during the fight. I havent seen one fighter respond well to the elbow in the throat yet.

Power? When did Floyd ever KO a fighter with one punch as Pea did to Nazario(same guy who stopped Rosario) in a big fight? Make it twice, when Pea did it to Lomeli. Power is close, but in terms of one punch power, when Pea put his body into his punches, he proved himself. Most of Floyd's KO's were of the TKO variety at 130 pounds, facing smaller and lesser fighters than the ones Pea faced at 135 and 147.

Ring intelligence? Why would you say Floyd? Pea dominated and nearly shut out guys like Azumah Nelson, who would've given Floyd absolute hell(possibly beaten him). He shut out Castillo-level fighters like Ramirez(probably not Castillo level at the time to be honest, considering Ramirez was past his prime) with ease. He was MUCH better off the backfoot than Floyd, who only once really impressed with me such a performance, and that was against a limited Corrales, not an Azumah Nelson.

Defense? Smack the **** out of yourself.

    Jab: Pea
    Workrate: Pea
    In-fighting: Pea
    Versatility: Pea
    Cojones: Pea

    As I said.

:rofl Sweatcrack you really outdone yourself

    Knockouts

Pernell Whitaker - 17 in 46 professional fights
    Floyd Mayweather - 25 in 39 fights

Louie Lomeli was a nobody. Nazario was a nobody. Compare that to stopping Corrales, Phillip N'Dou and Angel Manfredy.

One punch KO? Sharamba Mitchell. FLoyd has one of the most dominant right hands EVER in boxing. Today I put it right up there with BErnard Hopkins and Kelly Pavlik and in terms of speed and precision, easily the best today.

Lol that means nothing to me. To you, anyone who won a belt over the last 30 years would beat Floyd.

For instance Azumah Nelson beating Floyd Mayweather who is probably the number 1 superfeather weight ever is quite laughable, even considering the trouble Azumah had with smaller fighters like Jeff Fenech. Floyd is the ultimate ring general, unlike Pernell even when Floyd is involved in close decisions due to his fighting style he always pulls it out. Pernell lost a number of fights because he was never convinving enough, Floyd would never showboat against Oscar for no reason just to eleviate the fact he was getting hit. Thats something a crack head like Whitaker would do, Floyd never loses his cool no matter what.

:patsch Go smack the **** out of yourself. Ramirez was like 50 years old and had been decisioned already by Hector Camacho before Pernell fought him and still lost a decision.

Floyd boxed Castillo hurt and then dominated him on the second occasion, A PRIME Castillo who was the top fighter in his division along with Corrales.

Corrales was undefeated, had never been knocked down, and Floyd was moving up in weight. Azumah was a superfeather weight. Boy oh boy are you really reaching crack boy.

    :rofl :rofl

Floyd has the best compubox statistics of any fighter since its inception. Not only that, Floyd easily best Sweet crack in connect percentage and opponents landed percentage.

In 18 total title fights Floyd landed 46% of his punches, and was hit only 22% of the time. In 18 title fights for Pernell Whitaker he landed 42% of his punches and his opponents connected 28% of the time. Even using these statistics Floyd is the better defensive tactician, Pernell's abilities were largely his natural gifts, Floyds is straight technique. thus his fabulous ability for a slick fighter to fight on the inside.

I have owned you pretty badly woman beater, I have to agree. I've outdone myself in that regard.

 You dopey *******, I love how you conveniently left out my point about most of Floyd's KO's being at 130 against lesser, smaller fighters.

I'm just gonna bold that for everyone else to see. I hope you'll at least apologize, if not go all out and commit suicide.

That was a body shot that Sharmba clearly got up from, the ref's choice to stop it there was BS for me. Not to mention Tszyu had already ruined Sharmba. Even more convincingly than Floyd as well.

It means nothing to you because you don't understand a goddamn thing about boxing outside of Floyd, and you disrespect other fighters because you're an immature little ***** ass kid.

Styles make matchups. Fenech started at 122, but made 130 very well. Azumah started at 126, but was natural at 130. Not much of a size difference if you've seen the fight.

Not to mention Azumah was likely past his SFW prime by that point.

There's a difference between pulling out an SD against an old, faded Oscar and getting blatantly robbed against Julio Cesar Chavez in a Draw. Or a prime De La Hoya if we want to go there(against a past prime Pea mind you)

That's probably true, considering I don't even know what "convinving" means. If you're too busy beating your woman and beating your meat to Floyd trading cards and actually meant "convincing" than that's another story.

Was Roy not convincing enough to beat the Korean at the amateurs, or was it a blatant robbery? There are differences between the two. Unfortunately, they're differences a simpleton like yourself don't understand because your head is up Floyd's ass.

Whitaker never lost his cool. If anything, that's to show how cool and collected he is in the ring, that he's able to clown an ATG in his prime like DLH even when past his own prime. Meanwhile Mayweather is all business and is losing the fight until a past prime DLH gasses in the second half.

 You like to do this don't you? You once again conveniently refused to acknowledge where I pointed that exact point out, right in the post you quoted. Camacho would've possibly beaten Floyd at 130 also, by the way. Quicker hands, southpaw, great jab. All the ingredients to give Floyd hell. Even Floyd fans admit this. You won't because you don't know anything about Camacho in his young prime and think he was just the guy who got beat by De La Hoya and Trinidad.

When did he show sings of being hurt in the first fight? He fought like he always would, throwing strong punches with both hands in close and from afar. He clearly was not significantly hurt. Most fighters have small injuries going into fights, you Joy Boy nut-gobblers just like to over-do his when he looks human(which is quite a bit, by the way). And dominated? He pot-shotted and moved the ENTIRE fight, winning about 8 rounds to 4. Hardly a domination.

Corrales was also a SuperFeatherweight you ****ing dunce! Azumah is one of the top 3 of all time at that weight behind Floyd and Arguello. Corrales isn't top 10, and is a far more limited fighter than an ATG like Nelson. Of course, a fool like you will think that Nelson was nothing but a brawler, just like you probably think Duran was.

Compubox are bull****. If you want to talk compubox, let's talk how Castillo outlanded Floyd in every punch category aside from jabs, including connect percentage. What say you to that? Every non-****** knows how flawed compu-box is. Then again, I guess you don't qualify as one of that group.

Good for you for finding these stats on your Floyd fansite, but what a moronic simple little guy like yourself doesn't take into account is the level of opposition, the number of risks taken, etc. I probably get hit less backyard boxing with my inexperienced friends than Floyd does in title fights, does that make me a better defensive fighter?

What does the bolded part mean? Pernell relied on physical gifts? How? He had great reflexes, as does Floyd. Both had fantastic reflexes, and you even said earlier that their speed was even. Difference is, Pernell didn't shell up and throw single counters off the ropes like Floyd does, he stood within range and made the opponent miss, all while landing his own shots, or fought off the backfoot against the pressure fighters and picked them off just as well.

And what do you mean technique? Reflexes involve technique and skill as well. You have to know where the punch is coming and where to slip, and where to counter, regardless of how you go about defending. Floyd wouldn't be as successful without his speed either. They had different styles, just because Pernell's was far more impressive doesn't mean Floyd's relied more on technique, it just means he wasn't as good. Period. Now go back to beating up on your woman like your posterboy does.

Duran's style is to brawl. Why do you think he wants to get inside and pressure? Maybe ur interpretation is different. But just bc he knows how to slip and block punches DOES NOT MAKE HIM A BOXER. If you box you would know this. You guys think brawling is a bad thing. Like is a ****ing insult. Mike Tyson is considered a brawler but guess what you idiots. he can slip punches and hold a tight defense! WOW i mean is impossible for a brawler to learn and if he does slip/block punches he must be a boxer-puncher. Learn the style before you lead a bunch of pretend know it alls.
