^They'll mention some of the ATG's records and their 100+ wins, but not factor in that over 2/3rd of their wins were against club fighter/AAU variety type of fighters that had no business being in the same ring with them. That's mainly due to the fact that boxers didn't get paid well back in those old eras, thus they were forced to fight multiple times monthly/double digit amounts annually just to stay financially afloat. If Floyd fought back in the 30's-50's, he'd easily have accumulated 100+ wins with his fighting style and being able to fight club fighters the majority of times. No one can dispute this, just go on boxrec and look at the majority of opposition these fighters from back than were up against. This era has to be recognized for being nothing like those old one's solely for the fact that no one fights more than 3-4 times a year, unless you just turned professional which in case some of these neophytes fight up to 6 or 7 times a year in their first couple years as a pro. I remember in 98 Floyd fought 8 times leading up to him being the FOY for 1998.
All he had to do was fight Canelo in a fair fight, at 154 lbs for the Light Middleweight Titles like he did against Cotto. That would have proved his Greatness. When he beat Cotto, there were no excuses. And everyone respected Floyd after that fight, even respected him more since he didn't didn't do catchweights on principle. But what happened was people were so excited about the fact that Canelo and Mayweather we're going to fight, they totally forgot about what Floyd said before the Cotto fight about how he didn't do catchweights. He didn't prove his Greatness against Canelo because it wasn't a legitimate 154 lbs title match. Floyd barely eeked out a majority decision over a weight drained Canelo after saying he don't drain fighters. That's not impressive or Great. That's WEAK sauce. What is so hard to understand about this? As someone who paid $65 for the standard definition version of the fight, after spnding my hard earned money on Floyd, making him richer, all I ask for is a fair fight with no excuses, no BS like a Catchweight. I don't want to see a soap opera media love fest for Floyd with everyone giving him every round where a weight drained Canelo was holding his own and was right there blow for blow in most of the rounds. Where if you tell the truth about what happened, you are attacked by brainwashed *****s who insist that Floyd won every round. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is better than this, and what he did in this fight did not make him Great. It was entertaining, very good at times but NOT Great! The only way Floyd can be Great now after what he did is to beat Canelo at 154.
I agree he has proved it many times in the past, but not in this fight. In this fight all he proved is how he can weight drain and rob his opponents. So, Floyd proved that he's the Greatest hypocrite in boxing and the Greatest Catchweight weight drainer of all time. Floyd proved that he and TMT will do or say anything to rob the fans of their money, just so he has a better chance of winning. That's not a real champion.
Aint that the truth. And the ridiculous thing is he would have whipped Canelo @154 anyway. Its like Ward draining Dawson - totally no need as they're by far the superior fighter Floyd is a pvssy, always has been. Is he the best fighter of our generation? No doubt. But that dont change the fact hes still a pvssy :smooch
Any non boxer calling a professional fighter of any standard, let alone Mayweathers, a *****, is ridiculous and pathetic.
More excuses fight Canelo at 154 for a fair fight...a former 135 pounder has to move up more weight to make it fair for the new comers to boxing. canelo weighing 2 punds more isnt gonan help him from hitting air and getting tapped all night. He didn't look out of gas at any time, just out skilled as most hype jobs do.
I'm not sure what fight some of you saw. Floyd put on a boxing clinic at no time in the fight was Canelo even close.
You're idol Floyd said he "still considered Cotto an undefeated fighter". You're fighter made these statements. You're sarcasm should be detrected at the "nut", Floyd Money CATCHweather, the person who said it. :blurp
