When did Pac start knocking out welters and middleweights? He got Hatton with a perfect shot, but his KO rate has slowed since moving up in weight. Yeah, he batters guys around until getting a stoppage, but he's not knocking dudes out like he once did.

I don't know why some of these stupid ass arguments keep persisting. It's devolved into some ***** measuring contest amongst fans of two fighters who've kept it in their pants for 3 years.

Floyd need to knock a heavyweight out in order to be as great as PAC is. Floyd even said it himself so you have no point.

The only people who scored the fight to Manny were Arums judges.

Appart from blind Manny fans that is.

    Edit: 3rd bout.

watch the beginning of the JMM-Pac I right before they fight. Lampley was already hyping up Pacquiao talking about welterweights getting bruises and ribs broken during sparring..

I also think too many people EXPECT a knockout for every Pacquiao fight.

my question is who has beaten jmm convincingly without cheating? and there is no excuse for floyd not making the contracted weight which is 144. if 2 pounds means nothing, then floyd should have made it. both pac and jmm honored the weight and fought at the contracted weight. :deal

I don't usually get involved in these threads as its generally a waste of time but I thought I'd just chip in with some comments:

He hasn't magically become good at the tail end of his career, he won a world title back in 1998 and has won numerous ABC belts at different weights up until the current day. Up until he moved to the highere weightclass he scored wins over Barrera, Morales, Larios, Ledwaba, Solis, Marquez and Diaz among others.

There is no shame in struggling with a master technician like Marquez, he has been consistently a top 5 P4P fighter over the last 6-7 years and has beaten some top guys.

Some people make out like having a close trilogy with a guy like Marquez is some sort of disgrace but in reality whichever way you see the fights going they were all real good fights between two of the best boxers of our generation.

I scored the first and second to Pacquiao by one point each, they were very close fights and I felt the knockdowns edged them for him. I have no problems with anyone who scores them a draw or close for Marquez.

The third I had 7-5 to Marquez, a good fight buit I can't see as anything other than a clear win for Marquez in another good contest.

Sure he hasn't convinsingly beaten Marquez and he probably never will, it's a style conflict and he will always cause Pacquaio problems. Like I said no shame there.

he didn't need to change his style as his style works better for him in the higher weight category. he has fought ODLH, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito and Mosley.

None of these guys are as fast as Pacquaio so he can utilise his speed to overwhelm them which he did. Other than Mosley who just backpeddled and Clottey who shelled up all these guys came forward and walked straight into him and his onslaught of punches, there is no reason to adapt your style if it works.

When he fought Marquez, a guy his own size who has good speed and excellent timing he struggled with him again, simply because he was quicker on his feet and used his technical ability.

I see nothing of suspect here, its just good matchmaking and utilising his strengths more efficiently.
