well i guess pacquiao can fight juan manuel marquez and nonito donaire, who are P4P #3 and #4 right now, at welterweight to get back his P4P title since floyd got his title back by fighting P4P#2 marquez at welterweight. :patsch

    nice logic joyboys.

Pac never beat Floyd to become #1 either. He got it because Mayweather retired. Guess what? Floyd's back and beating better opponents.

You have to earn it, Tyson also is making a comeback so I guess he goes back to #1 too right?

Yet DLH is great win for Manny? Weight works both ways whether fighter is weight drained or "blown up"...

You missed the entire boat...The question posed was...if Mayweather is the favorite in the same weight division as Manny why wouldnt he be ranked number #1? He didnt ask about the minority the gave Cotto a chance to win.

Hatton outweighed Floyd on fight night and walked around @ 175 at the time Floyd fought him. He didnt come come up in weight...he just had to drain himself less and fight at a more natural weight. Mayweather knocked out an undefeated Hatton...why does that not make sense to you? What was Hattons best performance your talking about? Against Malinaggi? When he got rocked? Was that Hattons best performance? I thought his fight against Zoo was better...

Mayweather never stopped winning and Pac never surpassed him he just assumed his position because Floyd retired. Floyd came back, and beat the the number 1 welter while Pac fought the fighters Floyd already beat and or ones that had recently been brutally knocked out...how to does that make Pac a shoe in for number 1 above May?

No, Floyd got it back simply by coming back, then beating Shane who Pac and Roach passed up because they were scared.

how is juan marquez at welter and a 39 year old mosley better than hatton, cotto and clottey combined? all this while pac is coming-up in weight and has been the smaller man in his last 5 fights and stopping almost all his opposition.

    :good Good post.

Indeed, I envision the straight right hand being a problem for Manny Pacquiao. It was the right hand that caused him so much trouble against Erik Morales and Juan Manuel Marquez. With that said, I find it hard to judge today's Manny by his past fights because by all accounts, the Manny that fought at 130lbs would not be man handling 140-147 pounders like he is.

well, i guess for floyd fans and some oscar fans, floyd can fight calderon at welter and he is the #1 p4p in your eyes. sorry to say but P4P ratings are also rated by accomplishments and pac has done more in the last 2 years than floyd.

I agree that's it not logical to judge Manny off of fights that heppened 4 and 5 years, just like its dumb when people bring up the Castillo fight for Floyd which happened like 7 or 8 yrs ago. But Manny is still a sucker for the right hand which was shown in the Clottey fight only 2 months ago.
