Floyd's losing it. We've gotten way past gamesmanship. He's not Ali, he's not charismatic or funny. He's very insecure, petty, short-sided, closed-minded, and living in a fantasy land. He's trying to hold on to what he has, but the man is clearly envious or jealous of Pac or in a bad state of mind. He's pulling a semi Stephen Marbury. It's like a combination of Marbury and Tyson... the talent and skill in the ring are still there but there are clear problems behind the lines.

Yep. They're both going to be getting +$40 million this fight and I'm sure that'll soften the blow for either. "Racism" is such an overdone and yawn-inducing subject.M

Same as always. Avoiding crisp punchers in their prime. Somethings never change.

I don't think Frazier thought it was very funny when Ali was cracking race sensitive jokes at him. It's been 35 years, but he still bitter. People are glorifying Ali too much, and forgetting that he was even worse than Floyd when it came to messing with his number one rival. This wasn't no teriyaki, sushi, and fried rice jokes. He called Frazier a traitor to his own race. Frazier's damn kids got picked on in school just because of Ali.

I think people are reading into it way too much. What he did is no different than what kids do at the playground. If you approached me and kept nagging me about my rival, I'd probably jokingly tell you something along the lines of, "I'd whip his ass easy. He ain't ****. That ****** ain't got nothing against me. I make more money and get more ***** than he does."

That's basically what Floyd did. It's immature, crass behavior, and rude. But you have to keep in mind that's a routine that's made him into a filthy rich millionaire. Why stop when it's working? To me the situation is shaping into a modern day version of Ali-Frazier. If things go as projected we could see Thrilla in Manila 2. But that's just me. I might be the only one who is shedding light.

In my opinion Hopkins throwing down the Puerto Rican flag was more offensive than Floyd's little rant about cats and dogs. I'm Asian and every now and then I get teased by white folks. **** that I hear pretty much run the gamut - anything from the shape of my eyes to dog meat. I quickly come back with my own retort involving white trash and they usually laugh and walk away. No big deal.

I just can't wait for the situation to finally fizzle. It's much ado about nothing. I would never teach my kids to act like Floyd. But in the world of sports I think we can all agree heckling comes with the territory.

It was a SHITTY thing for Ali to do to Frazier. And this was after Frazier gave him money and support when Ali was down all those years, it was classless. Plus, it fed into a negative stereotype that I'm sure white supremacist applauded.

He didn't, and rightfully so. I'm not trying to justify either. I just don't think Floyd is doing this for promotion or gamesmanship. He hasn't even signed on to fight Pac... he has ducked, backed out, or failed to fight him twice now.

The difference is not what's said but how. Ali could do it and still make a lot of us laugh. And he could do it a much more jovial matter. A lot of it was wrong. Floyd seemed mean-spirited and spoke in a bad tones in that blog.

Couldn't agree more. People who get angry at "racism" on one hand, then applaud Ali and call him "charismatic" on the other... well, it's laughable. They pick and choose when to be offended by "racism".

    ^^This. Seriously.

He likes to run his mouth. Some people dig it, lots of others don't. Either way, for every word that comes out of his mouth, thousands more are put out by writers, bloggers, and people like us in these forums, in response to whatever he or someone in his family has said that day. All that chatter, at some point, converts to $$$.

He's a jackass, he's trying to be funny and play mental games, he wants attention and to build hype for the fight, etc..

Personally I think making racial/ethnic jokes about food is pretty lame IMO.

It doesn't help that Floyd simply isn't funny.

Floyd is doing it how Floyd always does. His way. How many people can say that for themselves. In a world of sheeple who are just following the herd there isn't much individuals left on this planet. Floyd is one of those rare individuals. I think that in itself makes him less relatable to alot of people.

Also on another note the stage that Floyd performs on is unlike no other. When Manny gets ready to fight he'll do a couple of press conferences. Sleep in the closet with his dog and Buboy on 24/7, then go fight. He conducts hiself in a humble manner and really I truly feel he doesn't have the pressure that Floyd has to deal with when he fights.

Now keep in mind Floyd brings the pressure on himself no doubt. But when he prepares for a fight. It's a few press conferences in the U.S. He travels overseas to the UK. He'll go on a show like WWE and other talk shows. Plus he trains like a madman. His **** talking is what really sets him apart and is the main reason for his sucess. But its one thing to talk **** and back it up which puts him on a plain of existense where only he stands alone. There's no denying he has a standard specifically set on him that no other boxer shares.

His motive is fight when he's ready. And I'm sure he cares alittle bit what other people say about him but I'm sure any ill feelings go away when he looks at his 40 million dollars he just made and assures himself he doing exactly what he's supposed too.
