how long ago was that? since then hes not even come close to being knocked down and he fought one of the best bodypunchers of recent times in Marco Antonio Barrera.
I am not very high on Ricky Hatton. I really think it depends on what the referee allows/does not allow that will determine the outcome of the fight. I could see either guy winning.
A few years ago indeed. But irregardless of when it was, he's taking on a physically strong, prime, natural 140 who's a specialist body puncher. Hatton has knocked out guys with body shots who are far more proven in taking punishment to the body than Pacquiao, Castillo for example - one shot and he was on the floor in pain, gasping for air and giving up. Pacquiao has that pedigree of being able to be hurt to the body - as I said the Marquez fight in more recent times proves this even if the 2 clean KO's earlier on from body punches doesn't - and Hatton is a known body puncher. There's every chance it could happen.
Spiritually? nah.... have you seen pac's homecoming videos after he wins? he goes straight to church. There's always a mass before and after his fights, plus he attends sunday mass with the whole team pacquiao every sunday of his training camp. Praying is like a habit for him. Let's not even begin with his mom.
thanks done it...and shogun i know what you mean but that doesnt mean hatton cant become better spiritually and compete with pacman in all 3 phases
Spirtual preparation means nothing. Don't rely on faith to do your job for you. Come prepared, focused and in shape and follow your gameplan. Which ever guy does that best, wins. If Hatton does that and Pacquiao doesn't, his faith isn't going to save him.
The guy is a warrior and his mental and physical gave up, he didn't get up before 10. He was clearly distraught, he span round and dropped to one knee. He spat his mouthpiece half way out and you could see he couldn't breathe properly, he even said so after the fight that he was gasping for air. Some sources even say Hatton broke 4 of his ribs, though I don't believe that.
