    Essentially, it's the guy who analyzes an ongoing sports contest in real time. In boxing, that's what Larry Merchant and Manny Stewart do on HBO.

    I choose the "I don't know" option. He's never done any commentary so how can anyone make a judgement about how he'd do.

    I always thought of it being like a co-commentator who can add a bit of knowledge about the sport, and also can be engaging and entertaining with their words, which might be where the 'color' bit comes into it. Check out the games NHL 2002, 2003 for the best color commentary ever

    I honestly think Floyd would do a good job if he does it every now and then maybe on FNF like Bernard and Ward did and have some good insight, but as a permanent replacement, idk

    Paulie is similar to Floyd. He'd be good every now and then, but not permanent. I'd love to hear him do it though

    I'm sure ppl thought that about Roy. Roy and Floyd are very similar and ego maniacs and it shows with Roy a little, but nobody minds it. I actually enjoy it when he describes Martinez being extra quick as Roy Jonish :yep
