Ray would do what he did to Benitez.

As I say in every thread like this. Srl was in his early 20s at welterweight. Floyd didnt get to welterweight intil he was 29-30. Meaning prime 4 prime this fight could never happen. And 4 the record Srl is not close to Floyd in terms of SKILL. Hes just not. And anybody who says otherwise is biased. However? Srl is just to big for Floyd. Not to mention Floy fighting at welterweight is the same thing as Srl fighting at 154 and above. Meaninh Floyd is an.old man in terms of boxing. Hes in his last division as oppossed to his prime division.

That can be a bit of a misconception Jim.Yes,he did use the ring in certain fights, but he was also very capable and actually chose many times to fight out of an almost flat footed brawling style.
Watch the Kalule fight, perhaps his most underrated victory, and I'm sure the commentators make reference to him fighting like Joe Louis (although I may be mistaken)
Check the first post in this thread if you have the time or inclination.
The rest of your post was spot on though.
I hate these threads because I'm a Floyd fan,yet you have to go against ludicrous assertions.
I don't think it's outwith the realms of possibility that Floyd could nick a decision at some point, but 79-82?
    Not on your nelly.:nono

    Yeah.Berbick trounced Ali too.

    Never said he was.
But if you really think that fight has any bearing on the discussion here(or Ray's legacy for that matter) then trying to debate/discuss with you would be a textbook exercise in futility.

Leonard on points or maybe 14 rd stoppage. SRL has too many physical advantages at welter. His sharp jab, underated bodywork, and punching power keeps the pressure on PBF. PBF`s slick defense, great handspeed and sharp punching give SRL some problems early on. But, SRL would make the neccesary adjustments and impose himself along with his better power on PBF. SRL could grit his teeth and turn into the puncher/stalker when he needed to. And he also has the benefit of being in many tough fights where he had to `go to the well` to pull it out. In matching great fighters hypothetically, it comes down to will as much as skill. SRL had an incredible fighting heart in his prime. And he`d be more willing to take the chances he would need to win. I don`t think PBF has enough` pop` in his shots to deter SRL...PBD great boxing savvy makes it interesting for a bit, but around the 4th SRL takes over...He had to dig in deep against the freakish size advantages and awesome power of Hearns, all those physical advantages (reach, speed, power) and Ray still overcame him. he`s too much of everything for PBF, who is not at his best at welter ...

Leonard was fast, stronger than Floyd, his combination punching is better than Floyd's. Leonard is also one of the most adaptable boxers ever - he could brawl, go toe to toe, fight off the ropes, box at distance, he had it all...

    SRL beats Floyd

Anything is possible in boxing. I am sure Jr has a shot at beating SRL . . . however, I would say SRL would be a strong favourite going into the fight and SRL would win 7-8/10. ultimately, the ts is correct, FMJ could beat SRL but would he is another question.

No way does Floyd have any chance, he's to slow at the weight, low punch volume, just go watch the Mayweather/Hatton fight & compare that to Leonard/Duran 1. There is no way ever period that Mayweather could ever get the better of SRL at 147, he just does not have the required tools to do the job. OK Leonard can be made to look ordinary & laboured by such fighters as larry U.S. Bonds ect who in all reality are fighting to survive. That Mayweather that fought Cotto will be detroyed, Mayweathers defence lack's the versatility of a Benitez or Whitaker. He just does not have the speed of foot or pop or pop volume, this will be a monumental beat down from 8 onwards. He's out gunned, to slow, to economic with his output due to the fear of being countered, the odd checkhook or righthand counter ai'nt gonna deter SRL whose modus operandi is to let go bombs in multi salvo clusters, SRL times that Floyd Right hand to drop the left hand counter axe to close the show by 10.
