Round 9 Porter shoeshines and then retreats. Rinses, and repeats. Jordan catches a jab and holds it, Porter pounds away with his free right until the ref calls shenanigans. Jordan stalking but not throwing. Porter unleashes a ten punch combination that has Jordan shelled up in the center of the ring. No return fire. Jordan whips Porter's hip sidearm to gain some purchase. Porter comes right back with fast but non-damaging uppercut/hook combinations to the head. After another separation, Porter changes tack and tries 1-2-1-2-1-2 style combination punching. He snaps Jordan's head back with one of those 2's. Mouthpiece out. Point deduction? :blood It is the second time the mouthpiece is out but the first time he was landing a forceful punch and this time he got hit with one that knocked it out. Neither time did he spit it. Crazy. Still, Porter round. Plus the mandated point deduction. 88-82 Porter
5-4 Jordan (-1 point for stupid mouthpiece deduction?) Porter won the last 2 rounds on activity and nothing else. Completely ineffective.
Christ... Porter is going to get bashed up at some point. The way he launches in with his hands down is unforgivable.
Absurd point deduction. Porter should win anyway, but this is not the sort of statement you want to make. Jordan's punches are so sweeping that he might want to contact Carlos Baldomir to obtain some product.
Porter looks a confused fighter to me. I'm not sure he knows what his own niche is, he's trying to do a bit of everything and achieving nothing.
Round 10 Porter no longer even jumping in with combos at this point, instead potshotting on a one-and-done basis with lead rights. Jordan tries to time him but is just too slow and/or arm weary and the attempts to throw turn into clinches as he simply catches Porter on his arms. He attempts another underhand whip to Porter's flank but there's nothing on it. Porter throws wild head shots that miss, and drills one straight home to the gut that staggers Jordan. Jordan looks ready to go with ten seconds left. They infight to the bell. 98-91 Shawn Porter.
