he did but Kindelan had all but retired after the olympics and was sufferung ring rust....i still give alot of credit for an 18 y o Khan beating one of the true masters of the sport, although I actually give Khan more credit for giving a fully focused Kindelan as tough a fight as Ive seen him have in the olympic final in Athens.

The thing with Khan is, he may go through his whole career picking up alphabet titles here there and everywhere, but will never face anyone as good as super Mario....as good as Gamboa is I do not consider him at Kindelan level. I actually rate rigondeaux as the slightly better boxer, and was confident he would do very well as a pro before his arrest and return to cuba

Let's be fair; few prospects fight at top level (ish) after nine fights. The chap looks to be very good indeed and the best of luck to him. But as a stick to beat Khan's career with, the comparison sucks.

Illogical Khan hatred is just as silly as illogical Khan nuthugging.

On the flip side, Khan was green as grass when he lost to Kindelan.

You still give Khan props for the win, but some people act as if the Olympic final meant absolutely everything and the rematch zero. In truth, it was kinda 50-50 for both.

johnnie edwards won against norwood because norwood was throwing too much low blows and he got disqualified.

Edwards does have wins over Erik Aiken(IBF Featherweight champ not too long ago) and Angle Chacon and is probably in his prime .

TFFP , you say any promoter would get their fighter an easy World title if possible . OKay maybe most would , but Gamboa's team see to be going after fighters ranked highly by the WBA(De Jesus , Edwards and Rojas next) indicating they want to go in against Chris John , who imo and probably most others see as the best Featherweight out there . Linares , Guerrero and Luevano all look good fighters but to me John seems clearly to be the best and it looks like that's who they're going after .

Gamboa is fighting again in 6 weeks against Jose Rojas , 4 time title challenger and WBA #3 . He was also leading in a fight against John(after 3 completed rounds) before a head clash caused both fighters to be cut .

Considering Gamboa was ranked #5 by the WBA before this fight and has just beaten #13 Edwards . I would say there is a good chance that the fight could be made a final eliminator, as I said Rojas is #3 and there is no #1 ranked fighter . So we could be seeing Gamboa v John quicker than expected .

Gamboa is 26, Khan is 21. Gamboas team don't have the luxury of taking their time, Khans do.
