    :huh

    I don't think there is an argument.

    You have Marciano right about where he should be; ditto for Hopkins.

    Ring magazine rated Lewis as the best 2 years ago.

    I don't think you can necessarily indulge in h2h discussions having never seen a guy fight, but you can definitely rate their accomplishments and resume etc IMO.

    OH MY GOD NO JACK JOHNSON

    Johnson won the World Coloured Heavyweight title and the full World heavyweight title loads of times.
    Jack Johnson bt Sam Langford {Number 2 on your list}
    Jack Johnson bt Bob Fitzsimmons {Number 12 on your list with a 2nd round ko}
    I have no problem with Langford or Fitzsimmons rankings, but Johnson should also be on the list {well up}.

    I would have Barbadoes Joe and Kid Gavilan lower and would not have Ted
    Kid Lewis,Jack Britton or LM Rodriguez in the top 50, instead of those 3
    i would have Jack Johnson,
    Fighting Harada who beat Jofre {27 on your list} twice, although i would not have him higher than Jofre and Joe Calzaghe who beat Roy Jones {17 on list} and Bernard Hopkins {32 on list} although yet again not higher than Jones and Hopkins,but that could change.

    I'm really not a big fan of Holmes, he didn't come into thinking and I'm fine with that.

    i take atg lists as a bit of fun.

    i prefer that they do the atg lists in weightclasses rather than overall as it is very diffucult to comapare weightclasses and fighters over 100 year span.

    nothing to do with pacmans choice talking about in general on magazines like ring and ko over the years.

    i always notice that heavys are never rated at the time period they fight in as ATG.
    for example i dont think there is a fighter above light heavy in the ring rankings and yet on anyones all time lists they make up by far the biggest majority on any list.

    there must be a third of fighters on the list who fought for the heavyweight title.

    funny enough langford from reading about him if my old memory serves me right never got a heavyweight chance and never fought for a world title in his whole career.

    Langford and Fitzsimmons are lower weight fighters than Johnson, so those wins don't necessarily mean Johnson deserves to be ranked close to them.

    You rank Joe Calzaghe higher than Jack Britton or LM Rodriguez? I don't see the argument for that at all - and I especially don't think Joe slapping around the corpse of Roy Jones has any relevance whatsoever in this discussion.

    Joe would not make my top 75 with his resume, I can say that with complete confidence. There are plenty more guys from his own era I rank higher.

    Are those really your reasons??? Not a very compelling case now, is it?

    Although I am not always for ranking the old time fighters so high ( doesn't seem now that they will ever lost their ranking to new great fighters) ,

    I love that you have Monzon in the top 10, he definitely deserves it

    i always treat them as such .
    just a bit of fun.
    wlad and vitali beat every fighter in the world in most head to heads but are never rated.

    impossible to rank a flyweight against a heavy.
