Why are so many asylum seekers so ugly? If they looked a bit nicer like the swedish for example i wouldn't have such a people letting in the good sorts :hey.

Its about refugees not Immigrants.

 

There seems to be a complete distortion of facts with these people.

The basic rule of law says that any unauthorised entry is trespass, & that's what these people are. They are illegally entering this country.
They are detained under the UN refugee charter which gives them protection against prosecution until their bonafides are clarified.
The loophole is that most, if not all, do not bring any documents or evidence to prove that they have been persecuted & driven from their own country, which is what a genuine refugee suffers.

My information is that most cases deal with religious persecution, which is a can of worms.
Our laws on the freedom to practice any religion one wants means that very few of them are ever sent back because when it comes to burocracy, & detailed work, it will invariably end in the "too hard basket" & we are lumbered with them.:twisted:

Any attempts to slap them on a plane & send them back is met by the UN screaming racism & religious persecution.
We are part of Asia & that's not a good place for a gutless Anglo saxon christian politician to want to confront the real villian, Indonesia.

That government actually provides temporary residency, the transit bay, if you like, for the decending trespassers.

The majority of asylum seekers who are granted residency are in reality economic refugees.

I'm of the opinion that the moment they leave or bypass a territory that offers them protection, they no longer qualify to be considered asylum seekers. How many safe countries have these "asylum seekers" sailed by or from just so they could get to Australia? If the answer is one or more, they are in fact in search of a better economic life, not a safer life, and as such should not be treated as asylum seekers.

 

No, we shouldn't just let the gates open Rodin. I think they need to be more strict with who gets in but a lot of these boat people are desperate to have a better and safer life, escape persecution and terror and many do good work in the community when they are granted citizenship.

But any trouble makers in camps... bye bye baby bye bye 100%. Ship them straight back.
