How so? Lara in his young career is still better than most fighters on Angulo's resume and Angulo's style plays right into him.

Well Kirkland isn't fighting anyone for money right now so...Angulo Vs Lara.
    Damn what a fight.
I think it would go the distance.

Maybe, maybe not, but Lara and Angulo has many things in common, and Angulo has exactly 15 fights, and world title ready, so who knows. They both were decorated amateurs, Angulo won a few tournaments and went to Athens, Lara won the gold medal at world championships and a couple of minors. They are only 8 months apart in age (26), they both move forward in competition fast.

The big difference is of course is in the time of pro debut, Angulo started 3 years earlier, so I agree: it's early to jump on anything, but this is what it is: a thread on a possible future rivalry.

And speaking of the 15 fights, Lara doesn't look so bad if you compare his first 6 to Angulo's. The record is pretty much the same (6-0, 4KOs for Lara, 6-0, 3KOs for El Perro), but Angulo fought awful competition and still had to get away with a majority decision and a split decision. He's unstoppable since then, so it all depends on the progress.

Lara will school both Kirkland and Angulo. Give him some time though, cause those fights might happen next year

Korobov has an offense made in hell though, and he got caught with less than 10 clean punches in those three rounds. According to punch stats, he got hit ONE time.

His handspeed is average but his power and punch variety is awesome. He can fight going backwards and has excellent timing and counterpunching ability. He would take a step back to avoid shots and then counter on point.

He has only had 6 fights. And he isnt in love with his power at all, an opponent being able to take it wont be an issue for him. He doesnt fight for a KO. He sure as hell can finish a guy though

I agree with Roach. Lara needs about a year, and then he'll be ready for bigger things.
Grady Brewer is fighting Baysangurov for the vacant IBO title in August. Maybe they could match Lara with the winner sometime next year. That might make a good "step up" fight.

im a big Lara's fan but he hasnt seen any thing like Angulo yet...he should try some brawlers first and see how he deliver after the 8 round.Angulo will be always in front of him delivering bombs...if Lara keeps his pace and doesnt get distracted he should get a title soon, even against Angulo(hoping his gloves arent loaded:)

How because he didn't KO his guy?

Right now you'd be silly to pick Lara. Too many unanswered questions, too many things we've yet to figure out.

Come back to me in 2010 when Lara is a bit more proven and I think he'd lay down an 11-1 ass kicking.
