Round 1

Martinez jabs ineffectively and clinches. Brown throws some hard hooks. Vicious body shots by Brown. She is definitely the stronger girl. Martinez tries to box cute, but gets roughed up. Hard lefts and rights to the body by Brown. Martinez waves her arms around and gets her left lain across Brown's through. Brown just thrusts her chin out to knock Martinez's arm aside. :scaredas: This is a bad woman.

Round 2

Big wild swings from both, Brown's are harder. Martinez gets some sharp little straight rights through, though. Good action, better than expected. Brown with a hard right to the body, sends Martinez back a few paces. Brown's dreadlocks have come loose (they were tied down) and the braids are flapping all over the place and getting into her eyes as she swings her heart out. Martinez chops away with right hands and high lfet hooks. Brown catches her coming in with a right hand. Uppercut by Brown on the inside. Martinez shoulders her into the ropes and holds her in place by the throat with her left hand while hitting her in the body with her right. Jesus, this is a prison fight.

 

Round 3

Hard clinching, with both grabbing at the tops of the other and pulling roughly. The ref breaks them up, and they come back SWINGING! Holy Xena, they're really going at it. Brutal power punches to the face landed by both. Brown seemed a bit buzzed there for a bit, but kept punching back. Brown swiveling at the waist, swinging away with heavy blows side to side. No finesse here. Martinez comes forward and whacks her with a left hook to the jaw. They trade, Brown is backed up and eats another hook. Martinez comes on with a 1-2. Brown is backed up, circles off to her right throwing counters. BIG right to the jaw by Brown.

WTF. I guess we're getting the female FOTY, too. :conf

Round 4

Brown sledgehammers away but isn't landing, and collapses atop Martinez in a clinch. Martinez now takes her turn with wild swings until Brown gets her in a head lock and tugs her hair, nearly yanking her braids out. Warning from the ref. Never seen that. HUGE punches both ways. Brown goes to the body. Martinez throws a right haymaker coming forward in a crouch. Brown with a slapping right and then ties up. Martinez thrusts her jab trying to work behind it. Brown takes several unanswered shots to the face while backing up before flailing her right arm up and around the back of Martinez's head to try and pull her in. Martinez stalks, and Brown throws a hooking right that she ducks. They get close, hold each other and slap each other in the face.

Damn it, the channel was all ****ed up for the first 80 seconds. These are only two minute rounds!

Martinez slugs away with her 1-2...and is hit with a low blow. :blood

I've always wondered what happens when that happens in female boxing.

Round 6

Furious swinging by both, another fast-paced round. Martinez is still the aggressor, and Brown is trying to throw hard hooking counters backing up. Brown gets an arm behind Martinez while slipping off balance and they tumble down together, with Martinez landing in a sitting position on top of Brown, who's sprawled flat on her back. They get up and start hitting each other again. Martinez backs her to the ropes landing body shots. Lots and lots of body shots by the challenger. Brown answers with a couple. Martinez slaps her with a nasty 1-2 and then keeps a slapping flurry going until the bell!
