Wow, I rewatched the fight again and it was unreal. I can't believe that they lasted 12 rounds fighting the way they did, especially after having 2 brutal wars with such short breaks in between. I'm a huge Barrera fan and I didn't think I would say this, but Vazquez-Marquez III is probably the best fight I've ever seen. Every second of it was exciting and the end was like a movie. I'll never get the images of the 12th round out of my head.. Rafael falling but holding on to the rope, holding on to survive the final seconds of a round of severe punishment, Vazquez firing away shots, looking like a fire has ignited in him.. two fighters giving everything they have left. Amazing performances by both warriors. Great job by the ref for not stopping the fight and letting it go to the cards. The experience of watching this live is what makes boxing so special and rewatching it makes you respect and admire them even more. I can't imagine anything this year being as good as this. If anything even comes close this decade, I will be very happy.
