My honest to god gut feeling was Berto eeking out a close win. But given the extremely close nature of the fight I don't regret the reflex Alexander pick.

After gassing at the half way point of two fights in a row now. I think nobody should bet on Alexander, unless it's a 10 round fight. Neither Ortiz, or Berto were better than him. They just had better cardio, allowing them to outwork him in the second half of the fight.

Someone told me this was like retread night and I answered that sometimes that makes for the best fights even though the guys aren’t necessarily elite they have experience and they are going to go at it because whatever future they have is at stake — maybe one more shot, or being in position for another fight that gets the one more shot.

Boxing doesn’t always have to be about who is the No. 1, undisputed, best in the world pound for pound or in a weight class. I enjoyed some World Cup matches that didnt’ feature the best teams, I enjoy NFL games every week and I know neither team is going to win the Super Bowl, etc.

I never understand why some people who call themselves boxing fans s*** all over really good professional fighters who go in the ring and give their all because they don’t happen to be the best ... like the posters who do that are the best in the world at what they do, lol. Wonder what standards they hold themselves to.

I love boxing. This was a good fight for anyone who enjoys the sport.

One thing you can say about Alexander is that he has one of the best chins in the 21st Century. He's walked through bombs from every power puncher he's faced. Guys who were known to be able to crack like Witter, Urango, Matthysse, Maidana, Bailey, Ortiz, and Berto.

Oh I see. I made the same mistake. I assumed Cunningham would have that cardio issue taken care of for this fight. He might as well retire, if it's something that is unfixable.
