Frampton V Warrington should it stay PPV

The thing I found the most odd is it being on 22nd December, any spare cash people have round then is going on the boozer for most.

 

I am surprised it's not sold out yet as both fighters have a big loyal support (as far as going to their fights). Your right it needed a big undercard, would have been a great opportunity for Frank to have put on Yarde Burton on in Manchester. Also Gorman in a big step up.

 

Frampton's a very skilful boxer and good to watch IMO and Warrington fights at 100mph and works his socks off. I think Frampton v Warrington will be a great fight and will be really shocked if it's "dull". I'd also disagree that Frampton is "feather fisted" and so would Scott Quigg's jaw.

 

In today's current market it is PPV standard. However, having it on the same night as Chisora vs Whyte is a disaster.

 

Would be very unfair on those who have booked travel and accommodation, particularly Frampton's supporters heading across the Irish Sea.

I'm hopeful it will do ok, two dedicated fan bases, a very good fight if it delivers on the promise. I think it's the better fight, although the card may not be as good.

 

I did say Frampton is/was a good boxer, nobody disputes that but he’s only managed to stop Luke Jackson since moving up in weight and that’s his only stoppage in nearly 4 years so I’d say yes he is feather fisted. If you done a prediction thread now on the fight about 90% of the votes would be a decision either way which tells you all you need to know about the punching capabilities of either man.

 

Frampton has been fighting at or near the top of the division during that time. He could easily have slotted in a couple of easier fights and padded his record with a TKO but what would that have really told us?

 

I've made my feelings clear already, Warrington v Frampton is a justifiable PPV in my eyes. But I've noticed that Frampton is a really petty guy. As soon as this was announced he was on Twitter taking cheap shots at Whyte and Chisora, describing his fight as a "real fight" with no hype etc.

He did the same when Khan v Lo Greco was announced for the same day as his show.

He's really unlikeable, even though he supports the same football team as me and he's a fabulous fighter. So many reasons to like him but he has a massive superiority complex.

Agreed. I also thought it seemed an odd venue. Leeds isn't that far but getting to Manchester and back plus a hotel from Belfast three days before Christmas will be a pain.

 

Also the darts is on that night and a ton of casuals will be watching that. Not the best day for boxing. Friday and Saturday before Xmas is traditionally the busiest time pre-Xmas for people to go travelling to see family too so it’s no ideal for sporting events to take place on that Saturday night, let alone two boxing PPVs.

 

Carl vjosh is the quality fight. The quality product. Hopefully enough discerning knowledgeabke fans will cop this and make it a success .

 

Meh, Frampton is better p4p than Whyte & Chisora but I view Warrington has a European level fighter who scraped past a shot Martinez & beat an overrated, weight drained Selby.
People are acting as if it's two elite guys going head to head - I just don't buy it.

Im not saying its 2 elite guys but both are far more skilled than Whyte and Chisora. I just dont see how the fight wont be a good watch. The person i quoted was to be trying to make out like Whyte v Chisora will be this epic boxing match and Frampton v Warrington will be boring, thats absolute nonsense.
