Frampton vs Donaire now for the interim WBO belt

I like Carl but he hasn’t looked a shade of himself in the past couple of fights.

 

What people are failing to mention are the two main REAL reasons Carl has struggled a bit lately.

1. new trainer
2. Wrong weight class.

The first is fixable with time. The second isn’t.carl isn’t a featherweight.

 

We all have different opinions mate but he was certainly not the same fighter in the LSC 2nd fight and looked very poor in the Garcia fight.

If he fought LSC again this summer, I would be surprised if he was not brutally stopped.

Great career and it would be great to be proved wrong - not many improve after showing serious decline in two successive fights at the wrong side of 30 as well.

 

The thing about the criticisms of Frampton that I have a problem with is that they are not well founded. Remember when he fought Alejandro Gonzalez ....it was slated as a poor performance too. I disagreed, I thuught such opinions were greatly unfair to Gonzalez who was an excellent boxer. Frampton went on to beat LSC. Now Carl is being criticised foe a poor performance against another very tough opponent, Garcia. Garcia was big strong tough and knew Carl well from sparring. I don't worry when a fighter doesn't walk through opponents like Gonzalez or Garcia...it doesn't surprise me at all. These guys are very good and very tough.

Also with Garcia, it was Carl's first fight with Moore after a horrible year in and out of the ring. People shouldn't ignore these factors.

For the record I can't see Carl having great success st featherweight and I don't mind saying so. But I say that for a good reason...Carl is too small with the wrong style for success at 126 IMO. Not because he has lost the hunger or his stamina had gone etc etc..That said I think people writing him off are being premature.

If he struggles with nonito then I will start to worry, but let's wait and see...
