Anyone know what weight? I heard rumours that he will move to super feather which I think is a mistake.

A silly move if true. Imo u have to bring a fighter we would in the least term as "acceptable"
Burnett has just won the title and now they have two champs in belfast. He also has the sky hype machine behind him. Carl needs to keep fighting good fighters not step down

It's now been announced and confirmed as Andres Gutierrez.

Very disappointing opponent for what will be, in Carl's own words, his final fight in Belfast.

They probably wanted someone who would take a very low purse, seems Frampton is all about the $$$ now.

Not sure what anyone was expecting really.

Its warm up/comeback/stay busy fight. Against a fringe world level operator. Feel some of the criticism is a bit harsh here

Well Carl has repeatedly said " only top level fights for me from now on". Is ONE genuine super fight at home in his entire career too much to ask.....I think his fans are entitled to that at the very least, don't you....?

Can't really have a super fight coming of a loss and with no belt can he.

The likes of Quigg, LSC, Selby, Mares, etc don't want to travel to Belfast either to fight Frampton. It isn't ideal but he's had 4 fights in a row on the road now, three of which were against world champions and in the other he got dropped twice in the first round. If anybody deserves a stay busy/tune-up fight then it's Frampton.

I thought Oscar Valdez wanted to fight him in Belfast? Could that not have been made?

This fight isn't really that bad now that I found out it's not at Windsor park. I was thinking bit weak for a fight at Windsor park, but gladly it isn't so fine then really.

Its probably a money issue. This guy that nobody ever heard of will fight for peanuts - leaving more for Carl and his team. Valdez probably would require a big pay-day to risk coming to Belfast...

That said Quigg prob would take the fight cheap too....

Not a super fight but that was always unlikely. Carl has had a hard run is coming of a lose so I don't have a problem with this fight. As it's not a stadium headliner.
