I have often wondered about this fight, and who would win etc.

I am a big Bruno fan, i would be being British i followed his career from start to finish, i am also a big Holyfield fan.

Some on this thread have said that Bruno would be all wrong for Holyfield, in some sense yes he would be, but when you weigh this fight up would he?

One thing with Bruno was his courage and determination, nobody can question that, four attempts at a world Heavyweight championship, and then winning one.

When you get to the nitty gritty of it, you could compare opponents but does it tell you much?

Could Holyfield have taken the combination and left hook that Bruno landed on Tyson in the first round of there first fight?
Could Bruno keep up with the pace that Holyfield would set.

Personally i think yes Holyfield takes it, and goes into smart mode.

Personally no, Bruno would look terrible.

For all his heart, Bruno would give it everything he could, catching Holyfield a few times early, but to no avail, Holyfield would just be too smart for him, quick combinations, in and out even inside with him.

I would say that this may be an exciting fight whilst it lasted, but i can only see one winner and that would be Holyfield, and by stoppage, and depending on how Holyfield came into the fight, it could be over in Four rounds.

I really don't see how Bruno could get to him and hurt him, i just have this vision of Holyfield, in and out with combinations, ripping them inside uppercuts in, and from out as well.

It would be a brave effort from Bruno, but Holyfield wins this, anywhere between Rds 4-6.

I agree that Bowe was potentially a great champion. In Actuality however he fell short of that. Bowe twice beat a great fighter who also beat him. It almost cancels himself out. Kind of like ingo johansson. and that second win, the one where Holyfield had some kind of anxiety attack that allowed Bowe to get back into the fight after he was "out" on the ropes. It was extraordinary. So It is a slim resume in the scheme of things.

Let's not forget that the one great fighter, Holyfield, was at no time better or harder to beat than Lewis or Tyson when Bruno met them.

There is no real evidence Bowe could have got past Witherspoon or Bonecrusher when Frank fought them either because Riddick did not really fight many tough fighters. If you go through his record I don't think he met one live guy until Holyfield. What's his next best win? Donald?

Like I say, that one fight against Holyfield he looked like he should have become a great fighter but he never reproduced that form.

    Good post.

Bruno would most likely lose. Especially if a title were involved.
