At their peaks (Cooney in the the early 1980s and Bruno in the 1990s) it would have made a great fight, an 'either way' fight. Cooney was a huge puncher but so was Frank.
I lean towards Cooney, for some reason.

Would of been a crackin fight mate. Would it be over 12 or 15?
I see Bruno busting Cooney up with his jab and over hand right but he would have to get him otta there before the last 3rd or it could end in tears.
Never got why they called him Gentleman Gerry Cooney..He could be a right dirty ****er.

Cooney was ruined by "The Wacko Twins", who managed him and gave him too many patsies prior to Holmes. They did the same with Howard Davis prior to Watt.

the fight could be over 6 or even 3 rounds because its not going to go very far.
the gentleman bit was a bit mis-leading,especially after he landed his best punches ( low left hooks)to holmes protector:lol:

bruno i feel. both have similar traits, low survival skills with a mixture of lack of chin, stamina, defence, clinching etc.

bruno i think would look very good agasint every cooney opponant and for me i think bruno would bullied cooney into pulp. bruno's technical skills were very good for a man of his size.

but a cooney coming out to bumrush bruno wouldnt be a surprise

bruno...too much for cooney....i think frank was the better boxer, the better ring general and had a more savage all round arsenal....cooney had the big left hook and not enough to keep a fired up bruno off....for much the same reason, i think bruno would have sparked tommy morrison....although, morrison vs cooney would have been a right tear up....
