So who are the world beaters that travel to your gym to give your guys sparring?

 

on paper no one, in his head all of them.

 

i never said americans are better mate,i dont beleive they are,i said there is more variety regarding sparring partners.:good

 

but americans ARE better though, the coaches and fighters, our domestic level fighters are called club fighters there.

Well i was expecting a 6 4 lean fighting machine but was not to be. He is 6 1 is his mams heels.

 

A few people have pulled out of fighting Frankie onthe up, At the end of the day you have your opinion and I have mine, As do you Rob, I'll finish on this though, Rob how many world class fighters do you think Frankie beat in the am's?? I'll tell you now he beat an awful lot and lot's of them were punchers too, Am is different yes BUT the concept is still the same and let me tell you this, They do hit hard at the highest level in the am's, Frankie took them and come back with better, I think he'll do the exact same thing in the pro's.. Decent topic this too guys... Don't let it go stupid like some others.. Billy Nelson is also a good trainer and let me tell you all this, I have witnessed a fighter go backwards since leaving him!!:good

So what would you suggest as a potential solution?

Most American journeymen have either winning records or something like - and come to win. Rather than ''I took Floyd Mayweather the distance in 1996'' it's ''I tried to knock Floyd Mayweather's head off''.

A lot of our ''journeymen'' aren't journeymen. They are hookers - taking the fight, a bit of running, a few shots and pocket the cash.... or these cheap imports from Latvia that take one look and fall over like a drunk.

It's a mentality thing - they keep getting recycled and are in the frame of mind that if they do too well the call won't come in a month's time..... maybe that's true, but surely a promoter will want to know which of his lads can and can't hack it as they move through?

My major issue is with the 2nd tier ''prospects'' like Jeffries being fed flat out bums, and coming unstuck the moment they meet someone that is up for it because it's a shock to the system (amongst other things) - such as against King and on Friday.

There are too many titles being used as buffers to avoid making the good fights, and too many promoters to too few fighters also.

From afar, it seems like lads take too long to find their level.... there is nothing wrong with being a domestic champion or a fringe contender - there is a role to play by trying to knock the Olympians and other big names off their perch :yep

 

:deal It's a fact that the sport is taken alot more serious in the states. Look at Jeffries and Tyson Fury. What were they doing in training camp?
