I think Kev has gone on record to say he would. But with his criminal record I doubt he would be let in.

So, you would go to the US to fight Rios who isn't a champion. But won't fight Mitchell in England? :think

Listen mate Ricky told FW fighting Kevin wouldnt be a problem at all, whoever has told you diffrently is telling porkies.
But why as champion should we come to london.
I hear West Ham dont want it there so we could get a 10,000 capacity in Glasgow no probs,Kevin seems to think hes the champion hes not and he wont be not the WBO one anyway!

The day Frank puts Burns in with Rios, is the day I shave my balls and call myself Suzie, it will never happen!

  5. Burns is pretty effective at blocking and countering on the ropes IMO. He's better at countering - especially with the uppercut, than he is at blocking.

He tends to stand there with the earmuffs on to catch a bit of a breather, which works well against the primarily hooking type fighters that he's been in with, as opposed to fighters that can bring straight shots up the middle.

That's not a criticism of him by any means, there's nothing to say that he can't block straight shots, he's simply not faced any particularly good straight punchers, let's be honest there aren't that many around in his weight class at the minute.

He would be better served trying to pivot a bit more but Katsidis is a pretty imposing type of fighter, and seen as he wasn't having much success anyway and can't throw a right hand properly at all, Burns was quite content to just counter with the uppercut every time - worked a treat.

I agree with what you've said there.

Also, while talking about Rios, I think you've really got to consider what he'll be like at the weight. If he comes in at 135 then I think Ricky will stand a good chance.

  7. I'd fancy his chances at 135 against Rios, who ought to move straight up to 147.

I'm not sure whether it's his natural size or him just ballooning up in between fights (perhaps both) but trying to stay at 135 for so long will shorten his career.

It's unrealistic but I'd put Burns in with Marquez if the money was right.

I know exactly why he does it, and it hasn't seen him get hit much so far, but against Rios I think it would be a horrible situation to put himself in.
