It sounds like Belly N doesn't mind the fight anymore and it is just about the money. I might be wrong though. Nevertheless, everyone in boxing is a joke. It is purely business and a true commission (domestically and internationally) of some sort is needed to bring back the sporting element.

You could say the same thing 90 years ago mate, it's been a business for a long, long time.

Because Burns is currently nothing in relation to Rios than just one of a few contenders.

    Agreed.

At the time Katsidis looked like a tougher fight than Broner.

Seriously, I can see why they would want the Mitchell fight because its easier to do business with both being British. However all these guys have achieved more and i would be happy to see Burns fight any of these:

    Miguel Vasquez
    Henry Lundy/Dannie Williams winner
    John Molina
    Sharif Bogere
    Urbano Antillon
    Alisher Rahimov
    Miguel Acosta

None of these guys have fights scheduled.

Also these guys who are tied up at the minute but wont be soon:

    Brandon Rios
    Richard Abril
Robert Guerrero (not sure if he is staying at 140)
    Antonio DeMarco/Jorge Linares

As well as undefeated guys hovering near the top:

    Mercito Gesta
    Luis Ramon Jnr
    Aaron Herrera

If burns can't make match ups with the likes of these guys over the next 2 years (and rule them out if they drop out of contention) then he isn't going top be taken seriously and won't build any type of fanbase higher than the one he already has.

He has already shown he can mix it at world level by beating Martinez and Katsidis so he should be looking for the biggest fights he can get. Throwing him in with the likes of Layrea, Mosus and Evenson continually will just stagnate him and he'll end up getting upset when he moves back up. He's 29 year old and hitting his peak so he should be fightin g the best the division has to offer.

He's a half decent world level operator, nothing special though and nothing anyone is going to write home about. it wasn't a big fight and won't really do anything to convince anybody that Burns is a guy worth paying to watch.

To be fair to Moses, he's a class or two above the likes of Layrea, Evenson and a past-it Nicky Cook. I was genuinely impressed by just how good Burns looked against him. But I would like to see him against some of the guys you mentioned, chatty. I'm not sure how much Acosta has left at this point but I'd love to see Burns against Miguel Vázquez, Hank Lundy, John Molina or Sharif Bogere.

Is Urbano Antillón planning to return to the ring?

yeah I may have made him look worse than what he is by putting him in the same bracket as those but as I said its a decent win but nothing to write home about. i'm sure Rios Abril will tell us a lot about where Acosta is now but he has been written off after two losses and although he looked shocking against Abril he may have something left. No idea about Antillon, he's still ranked but we'll have to wait and see.

I couldn't give two shits about where a boxer comes from, I probably watch more Mexican/Japanese/American and classic boxing than British anyway.

I take it you admit I am correct then considering your weak ass reply that has nothing to do with what we were discussing whatsoever.

You need to get a grip mate Ricky Burns has the potential to unify the LW title and win a third weight world title but all you want to do is give him a hard time, well you know what we think of you know it all!:nono:nono

Nowhere did I say he couldn't unify LW or win a title in a third weight, what I said was that whoever does his matchmaking need to step up the competition more regularly for his sake and ours.

From the list of boxers I posted I actually think Ricky would beat most of them.

No point discussing LWW until he is finished at LW and moves up.
