Banging on about Joshua’s contract and stubhub again. He’s obsessed. He’s got 3 weeks until his flagship card at the o2 and half his fighters are yet to have opponents including his two golden boys. Surely his time would be best spent finding fighters for these? Also on the AJ situation is it far fetched to think he would sign with Frank and BN? Is frank just stirring the pot here or does he know something we don’t? Is he confident he’s got AJ in the bag?
No way is AJ signing with Frank and Boxnation. Sky is the bigger platform and where the money is and where the casuals will watch. Hearn will always do whatever he can to keep AJ there
Also he states he’s got a big announcement this week. When pressed for more info from Kugan he says I’ve just told you, it’s big! Kugan then asks about Fury and Frank has a little smile on his face and a glimmer in his eye...
You don't need to watch an Warren interview now as you already know what he will talk about. He doesn't stop talking about AJ and stub hub. It's embarrassing. He has this fantasy where AJ leaves matchroom and matchroom go out of business. On the contrary you listen to Hearn and he sure doesn't talk like a guy who's fretting over AJ.
I don't agree with companies like Stubhub, think the re-sale market should be banned.... But... What Eddie says about Frank having the issue with Stubhub because his shows don't sell out and don't go to re-sale is bang on and hilarious!
Spot on! He's still making big investments in Matchroom US and signing fighters. It's simple Business understanding, if a business owner was going to lose it's biggest market it wouldn't be investing elsewhere...
While I don’t think we have to worry about Matchroom UK imploding anytime soon, actually diversification reduces risk...
Correct, but not at the level we are talking about here, diversification works for small/medium risks to try and have options and growth in other areas. Losing AJ is losing the core business, I'd hazard a guess that he does AT LEAST 50% of Matchrooms UK turnover.
Frank is irritating me now with this stub hub and AJ stuff- it was funny at first but he’s flogging a dead horse. We all know the score with secoundary tickets and matchroom - they’ve been slightly exposed, and have already started quietly changing the model slightly. There’s nothing more to be said realy really. As for AJ there is zero chance of him going to Frank that’s just ridiculous - I’m sure frank is more then aware of it. He just likes to have something to attack matchroom with. There is no way that Hearn is not even slightly worried about the situation Unless AJ has given him the Knod already. I’m pretty certain he will re-sign but with a lower % going to matchroom which Hearn will be ok to take. I would prefer frank concerntrates on delivering something decent on April 14th- where are the opponents for Dubois and Davies? This is extremely poor promoting as for Ohara in particular given an opponent he can engage with he can create hype and interest needed to sell some tickets which is needed for the 02.
AJ will carry out working with Matchroom, may be in a partnership. Frank is stirring. I think by his demeanour he has Tyson Fury signing in the bag. Man is obsessed with Hearn and stubhub.
Before AJ Matchroom was biggest sports promotiinal company in the world and all there platforms have grown in recent years. Would AJ be a big blowing he left? Yes but the company would still be massive and profitable. You might be right about turnover but it won't make up 50% of their profit and it's profit that matters.
Fury done a recent interview with Sky which was Broadcast on their Main Platforms,Sky Sports News etc.Sky would never do such a thing if they got even a little hint that he was signing with Warren and becoming BT's Flagship Fighter. He's going to Matchroom, with AJ probably Co-Signing AJ Bxing and Matchroom together.
The difference is Matchroom is a successful/profitable sports promotion business that's been around since the 80s. Frank Warren's businesses all fly by the seat of their pants, make huge losses, are drowning in debt and are usually put under and then phoenixed under a different name. Fighters who sign with Warren probably don't understand that or are being poorly advised... Frank's stable is built on reputation and misplaced loyalty, but doesn't bear any scrutiny as a viable and secure business, which is something that I would be concerned about if I was choosing between the two. Despite all this and the string of failures, Frank is still driving around in a Rolls Royce and seems to have done very well for himself...
Frank is just doing all this because he hates other people doing better than him in his own Industry and in his Own Country.Like Most people would.Frank is just like Bob Arum or Don King, too old, tired and past it.Frank should just enjoy the rest of his short life and enjoy the fruits of his labour....His way of working is soo 90's.Let your sons takeover and enjoy your pensions Frank.Hearn will lose Joshua one day but the sad thing for Frank is,Hearn has got the next batch of Olympians to fill his place.Frank should've been more astute to prevent this and not served up **** on Sky back between 2008-2011
Yeah, maybe but honestly what difference does it make for Daniel Dubois and Yarde etc whether their promotional company is called Queensbury, Sports Network or Donald Duck?- the man behind them is Frank Warren. As long as there being paid and getting out on shows etc it’s little or no concern to them. In the last 5 years or so, and now that he’s with BT there has not been any issues with stability or anything. Frank needs a better team of young bucks in the office who can help drive the promotions (mainly the London ones) to the causal audience like Eddie has been able to with AJ etc. April 14th with the main names should be a huge show, but he’s fcuking it up with not getting suitable opponents sorted for the guys like Yarde and Davies who can tap into the type of audience that Eddie managed to get with say Okolie - Chamberlain.
