Yep, a solid ten rounds against an opponent that won't budge is better than a two round blowout of a pudding for a bauble.

Look at Groves, he got 8 good rounds in against a German bloke who has fought lots of top fighters and only been stopped once.

A lot of our lads go from 6 rounds straight to 12 (or have an 8 rounder against a 6 round level fighter and get an early stoppage) when really they ought to debut with 6 rounds and be scheduled for 8 within 5 fights, then onto 10 rounds.

I know I'm on his case a lot, but look at Brook..... lots of these intercontinental title fights against puddings like Bienias and Kotey..... when he'd be far better with ten rounds against an Alfonso Gomez or David Estrada.

He'll try anything to avoid making a 50-50 fight.

I've always believed in building up to the higher rounds. 12 rounders should only be for top titles.
But it's hard to gauge with some fighters at what speed they should brought along and what length fights should be.
I always use him as an example but look at don broadhurst. Did ok against Afro bums. But was shite against Haskins (who was also shite). He needed 8-10 rounders against domestic contenders before his step up. Look at how his career has gone since then. Relative inactivity and a loss last time out in brum I believe

I think the problem with 15 rounders is they'd never be accepted by the governing bodies.
8 rounds for the commonwealth IMO devalues it to a point that I shouldn't even be a recognised title

15 vs 12 rounds, like previous day weigh ins, is just a saftey thing.

Heard that FW is having the press conference today for the 21st May 2011 bill. Does anyone know if this is true.

This really could be a great line up like the Magnificent 7 nights.

Anyone else looking forward to this one?

I personally think British, European and Comm fights should all be ten rounds. Southern area 8 rounds.
