That fight - gave Haye the platform - to capture the BRITISH maninstram imagination. The fight only happened - cos Warren overpaid him what he was worth at the time. It was the only way to get him in the ring. Peronsally if I was Warren I would never have agreed to pay him a penny over £500,000. Up until then Haye was a good fighter - but by no means the main stream celeb he was today. The Maccarinelli fight was what caused Haye to be hyped up to the Heavyweight Boxing Savior. He's nothing of the sort.

Absolute horse-****. Haye would be a star regardless of Maccarinelli. Going to Russia and beating a 7ft giant was far far far more marketable than fighting Macca. I'm not saying that Warren never helped but Haye would still be huge today regardless of Warren or not.

Yeah he proably would have been a star anyway - up at heavyweight. But the stardom came - from the Macca fight - and he built on that. So Warrens one time intervention into Hayes career - brought him a massive pay cheque and fighting and headlining on by far the biggest promotion he had ever experienced. Warren accelerated Hayes route to stardom. As Haye was seen as some invincible fighter after the destruction of Maccarinelli - which was silly - considering Enzo had a egg chin - and it was always likely to end early - and Haye wasnt tested at all. As after the Macarinelli fight - Haye used his £800,000 purse to start up Hayemaker promotions and as a direct result of that fight - his main stream following grew. I am telling you now - 90% of all these glamour type girls - who tuned into watching Haye against the likes of Audelt Harrison fight because they fancy him - didnt know who he was before the Enzo fight. They werent there tuning into watch him fight Mormeck - cos they didnt even know who the **** he was.:deal
Bull****. Haye's a famous boxer because he's a good talent. Promoters work for boxers, not the other around. Frank Warren didn't step into the ring and fight Enzo for him, so why should he get the credit for it? FW wasn't exactly short changed either, I'm sure he made a pretty penny out of that fight. Haye's contract with Warren finished, so he decided to leave - he has every right to. Warren is just saying this to the media as he's pissed at Haye because he left him, a grudge that will last the length of his career. Probably longer, Warren couldn't help but have a go at Hatton after the drugs scandal came out. If Warren was still promoting Haye, I'm 100% sure he would have made the Harrison fight, so he's got no leg to stand on. He probably would have hyped it up even more.
He's a hypocrite true, but he always has a dig at anyone who is not in his stable. Probably a bit jealous of Haye PPV numbers compared to his, what did Khan/Mag 7 do? Also, he speaks for the casuals who don't know about him protecting fighters, they thought Manfredo was a match, they think his word is gospel and is always honest.

:huh Haye has never been a Warren fighter. Warren promoted Haye for just the one no strings attached fight - so Haye hardly "left him" because he was never with him. Warren paid Haye to defend against his fighter - Maccarinelli. It wasnt about Haye beinbg Warrens fighter. It was just about Warren stumping up the cash to get a big fight everyone in boxing wanted to see made.
