£10 says you're doing a thousand :yep Well done last night mate, just watched it over..... a top performance. Ask Warren for Kell Brook next.
i love how he doesn't square up when he gets his man on the ropes and is going for the kill. He stays in his stance and gets his hooks and body shots off, setting them up perfectly with the jab whilst still in a great position to pivot, change the angle and defend from counters.
I think that was a criticism prior to this fight. All credit to Frankie though, his defence was masterful at the weekend.
wow, never really watched Frankie Gavin fight because i ws never a big fan, but i watched the Satarday fight night (Frankie Gavin v Michael Lomax) and i completely changed my mind about him. Wow what a fighter and what a nice record lol, he is defo one of my new favourite fighters now of all time. he is so quick, Michael Lomax was throwing shots but just couldnt land any or catch Frankie gavin.
Frankie - did you get your hand checked out? Just wondering what kind of damage you've done (if any)?
what i love about they way he boxes and degale aswell the way the two of them stand right in front of the lads there boxing and they can barely be touched by a glove great to watch and rarely seen from prospects on these shores
Great performance. One of those times when you are really pleased to be proved totally wrong. When they all turned pro I really felt that despite being a great amateur, Gavin would find it difficult to adapt his style to the pro ranks. Way off. And I though Billy Joe Saunders would be the best suited to the pro game. But Gavin has been outstanding in his progress and maturity of performances. Great defensively there and I also like how he truly looks for gaps. He would have Lomax on the ropes and rather than just throw hundreds of shots, he would give himself room and look for spaces. To the guy posting above me.....you can only beat what is in front of you and whilst it does not prove he is world class, you judge a performance on its merits. At this stage of his career agains that level of opponent, of course it does not mean he is a world beater. But as a performance it was excellent and showcased some very strong attributes that will hopefully hold him in good stead as he moves up. Or were you just trolling and not actually interested in a real discussion?
Of course it's still to early to tell about world class etc, but i will say he's the most defensively astute British prospect i've watched in a long time.
