:good Good man, If Frankie sticks and moves and uses an ounce of his talent he'd win a very wide decision IMO

I hope frankie fights regular for the next year or 2, keeps winning and don't pull out of any more fights. If he does that he will win back his fans cus let's face it at the moment it's just talk and every bodies heard too much of that

people seem to forget that frankie gavin is probably the most skilled fighter britain has got and thats including your big names like froch, khan etc the lads sheer talent and think hes gonna start showing us what hes really got - i like Hatton but honestly feel frankie would be far to skilled and adapt to hattons style - hope the fight comes off as frankie says hatton is self managed so it will be easy to make.

That would be a real statement if he did.

Frankie's commented that he hopes the opposition improves, but surely that is an issue for his promotional team.
Either they are matching him poorly, or they don't believe he has shown the chops to move up.
Personally I think tougher fights might actually bring out the best, there are no room for short cuts or half hearted preparation.
Hope it comes off, and Frankie lays down an impressive performance.

If both fighters truly want this then there should be no excuses, but I won't hold my breath.

Look out Kev, Frankie's stealing your moves.

Seriously though, all the best to Frankie :good

On paper Frankie should make a fool out of Matthew, But Matthew has been in there with MUCH better opposition, fought at a level that Gavin might be at in 2 years time, and showed some serious stones to have it with Alvarez.

Meanwhile, Gavin looks lackluster against Mutley and scraped by against a semi pro Football Player.

It wouldn't be wise to count Matthew out, because he could make things ugly/make a good fight out of it ;-)

imo a pretty good match up for Frankie. Would be a natural step up in class as Matt Hatton doesnt always get the credit he deserves. He put up a decent fight against Kell but was, ultimately, outclassed by a potential future P4Per. Frankie's pedigree and solid fundamentals should get him the victory though. Hope it happens, would be another good fight for British Boxing.

it will be interesting to measure Gavins performance vs Kell Brook, although this fight has come about earlier in Frankies career.

I believe Gavin looked better vs Lomax than Kell...... Gavin wide UD might struggle to get the stoppage

im sure people think gavin has no stamina, hes naturally an athlete and trains hard, hatton fights on heart frankie fights on head and talent.

No offense but Mathews and Rees are lightweights, Rees should be nowhere near Welterweight!
