It takes two to tango and gavin has been in abysmal fights too. I don't understand why Witter is in such an invidious position with fans. Yes he has been in a few stinkers but the guy has had a pretty admirable career. He did it the right way, british, commonwealth, european, world. He is always fastidious in his preparation and comes in shape. The same can't be said for Gavin. Gavin put in horrid performances vs journeymen like Mutley and Woodhouse so I think Witter will be very competitive and don't forget that Witter can lay Gavin on the canvas if he lands cleanly. Both fighters are defensive and awkward. Witter probably takes more chances. Gavin is going to have to work hard to figure Witter out and have some success. It's NEVER easy vs Witter so I think the odds on Witter to win the fight are good and I will be having a bet.
I've been told there's a chance there'll be a few tickets on the door due to the date change. Cant see many though.
Yh there's tickets left people not many but will be some I got another 80 I know off going with out tickets tomo got told it's 3 quarters full upto now, won't be on again thanks for ur opinions an good an bad comments may the best man win..
That's pretty much how I see it too. Witter could be exciting in his prime but he could also be frustrating, erratic and sloppy even during his best years. I was unfortunately at his World Title fight with Corley...and I was pretty close to the ring, and **** me it was dire. Any sort of tricky opponent and he was always prone to looking lethargic and hoping to land some pot shot bomb without doing the ground work to open up the opportunity.
This card is absolutely shocking, even for ******. The main event is not that bad of a match up but the actual fight is going to be shocking, and the undercard is nothing but 60-54 jobs. I feel genuinely sorry for anyone who is going to be attending this monstrosity of an event.
WOW... Looking at the weigh in pictures Witter seems done. Frankie takes it UD, Witter will collect a paycheck lose the first few rounds and then just give up. Shame, been a huge fan of Witter but he has aged and it's over for him. Hope somehow he wins.
Gavin points Cagey from both fighters with Gavin showing the sharper, effective counter punches that discourage Witter. Cant see Gavin hurting Witter enough to stop him, but will win a UD.
Witter seems done? How have you worked that out? Please explain. Witter and Dom seem very confident, from the videos I've watched. Witter seems in good shape, but he also seems in denial with his age, I think this is a recipe for destruction. I keep hearing how he has been keeping up with the youngsters in the gym, sparring with Kell Brook. Is it just talk? I don't know. But it's cringe for me, like they are looking for anything to cling onto, to back up that Witter is still in his prime. Fighters shouldn't hide their age, it's one thing in life guaranteed to all. Many people become deluded and in denial when the realization hits them, that they are getting older and can't do what they used to be able to do. They look for anything to make them feel and look younger, it's sad really. They can't let go. Witter in his absolute prime was very accurate and very quick, the last few fights I've seen, he has looked a shadow of his former self, and for a Witter fan like myself, Prizefighter was really difficult for me to watch, he looked shot, it was really difficult to swallow. He shouldn't have been in there, watching him clinch for 3 rounds against mediocre opposition. It was hard to watch. I keep hearing him talk about world level and how he is going to get back to it, I have started to question him mentally now for this fight. Although Dom seems mighty confident of his fighter here, if they said/did anything else, they'd be getting weird looks. They're not gonna turn around and be honest and say, Junior is finished etc etc, they are going to make out that Junior is ready. But I think they will realize in the ring, after a few rounds, that Witter isn't what he used to be and the youth and energy of Frankie will just see him cruise a very boring fighter, with Witter showing every single year of his 38 from the mid-to-late rounds. Witter's in shape, but shape doesn't mean your going to do anything, Audley Harrison was in shape, probably the best I've ever seen him in, for his last fight. What happened?
Good luck Frankie I'll be watching tonight, moida da bum! don't let my Gavin stoppage prediction down now mate I actually forgot this fight was on tonight
