The Kelly that enters the ring against Gavin will be the best Kelly available.

There will be no excuses about weight, training, notice etc etc etc

He's been in Belfast at the Breen Gym for a few weeks now, away from his missus and his family. He will be looking to take all that out on our very of Frankie.

This is Kelly's last chance to do something really productive with his career, its the only chance he is going to get to put himself in the shopwindow so isnt going to let it slip past him easily.

Frankie is away to decent training camp himself. Best of sparring up at Arnies as well. Kelly knows what he is getting himself in for and that he is a massive underdog.

But both men will come ready, willing and able.

Good luck to them both - I just hope its a crácker of scrap and befitting of the occasion and the venue.

    :good

Really looking forward to this one too- got to agree with you bout Kelly , but don't know if he has missed the boat in terms of making an impact in boxing despite his tremendous pedigree in the amateurs. Again hope it's a belter and both give their all:bbb

He's had severe promotional problems to be fair to him. He had a half promise from Barry Hearn to help him out in his career but he started off promoting himself.

I remember one show he did in Dundalk and he could hardly train coming up to the fight as he was trying to sort stuff out with the promotion. Not ideal preperation! He's never had the backing or promotion but he's got his chance in 5 weeks so we'll see what he can do then.

I didn't see the fight vs Morozovs but I remember a few posters saying on forums at the time that it was a poor decision and Kelly should have got the nod. It was on the undercard of Dunne vs Cordoba so footage probably exists somewhere, just don't expect RTÉ to know where it is.

I saw it. Scored it to Kelly 39-37. Wasnt impressed by Kelly that night especially as I had been expecting a lot from him because people were talking about him being "back" after taking out Ivanovs in style.
