Too much weight in the legs. Those type of guys always struggle to get down to their lowets possible weight.
Did you smoke crack before you logged into ESB today? What the **** does Hendo (or Bendo, to whom I assume you're referring) have do with anything? We're comparing Aldo to Edgar on the basis of their actual weights not what they cut to. Aldo weighs more than Edgar, hence he is larger. He can barely make 145 and almost had to give up his belt last year in Toronto because he was having such a hard time making the cut. Edgar, on the other hand, doesn't cut anything to fight at LW and could probably make BW. In fact, he looks to be about the same size as Cruz when they stand side by side. This content is protected Is Aldo as large as Bend? No, but he'd still have a size advantage over Edgar.
Oh, I didn't know what you were talking about in your original post. Now I get you. Aldo will have a bigger frame but he is smaller than Bendo and the big guys who cut do that with the risk of weaker punch resistance, not being as sharp, fading down the stretch etc Edgar could push Aldo hard in a 5 rounder. Whereas if Aldo moves up he could be much fresher just like Corrales, Cotto, Pac, Khan and numerous others were in boxing. Edgar is the man not cutting any weight. I always root for him.
Clear robbery. Edgar controlled most of the rounds, outlanded him with hands and even feet. Takedowns were 7 to 2. Plus edgars finished strong in round 5, stuunned him early and dropped him late in the round. Plus edgar was the champ. They robbed him because aldo has noone to fight and they want him to move down. Edgar will win the rematch.
So I went to work today.. overheard two co-workers(with legitimate fighting experience) talking about how Edgar was robbed. One also mentioned how everyone at the bar he was at booing and left immediately after hearing the decision. I think people just hate Frankie cuz he'z black.:good
If you had boxing judges in there then maybe Edgar would have gotten the nod. Im coming from the point of view that Edgar has pillow hands but he will have a better connect rate. I'd like to see the compubox version of the UFC, i recall them having it.
alex-boxer42 - do you live in Jersey? The judges scoring it 4-1 in rounds isn't fair - I felt it was 3-2 to Henderson - But the metrics above clearly show that Hendo out struck, Frankie's face show that the agression was more effective and the fact there were no transitions at all show that while Frankie got more takedowns, he did nothing with them at all - and then Henderson still had 3 sub attempts to boot. It's Hendo's fight fair and square - Not a robbery - A close fight - but not a robbery.
Seems about right. They counted Bendos kicks even when they were caught. It technically hit something.
Ok I have rewatched the fight. This is my real non-drunken scorecard. No bias. Round 1. Great boxing by Edgar to only a few jabs landed by Benson. Many nice left hooks landed. Both fighters land many nice kicks. Edgar got 3 takedowns/throwdowns. These are worth almost as much as dropping an opponent with a strike in MMA to me. It's a pretty big deal to throw your opponent to the grouond in an MMA match. 10-9 Edgar no chance for a dispute, Frankie's eye is damaged pretty bad already but only from those few jabs. Round 2 Benson is landing more and stronger strikes this round. Frankie doing good too but getting outstruck overall. He is about to steal the round with a nice take down and lots of strikes/elbows but gets upkicked and nice submission attempt by Bendo. 10-9 Bendo- He almost lost it. But good round for him. Round 3 Not as much kicking from either fighter here. So many beautiful punches with good power land by Edgar that can't be ignored in this round. Bendo scored a takedown and landed a couple ok punches but "the answer" got right back up and score two take downs of his own to seal this round for him. I must restate that land a lot of very nice right hands in this round. 10-9 Edgar. But his face is completely ****ed. Round 4 Edgar was ****. Bendo was the man. 10-9 Bendo Round 5. Again Edgar landed many beautiful strong punches and stayed busy. He dropped Benson wiht a punch and this can't be ignored. Yes Bendo wasn't likely hurt and he clearly slipped. But in boxing do you not lose a point because you slipped at the same time you got hit? no. And for good reason. It takes skill to hit the other person when they are not ready so the slip at the same time. It's not like if the punch didn't land Bendo would have slipped anyway. 10-9 Frankie. 48-47 Frankie. IMHO there is NO OTHER WAY TO SCORE IT. I hate this "oh most of the rounds can go either way" BS. There has to be 1 unbias way to score fights that all judges abide by. Rogan was on Benson's nuts like he does with Shogun, I can't stand this guy sometimes. Both fighters land two punches "Oh what a right hand by Henderson) and over and over again commenting on the damage like a noob, and saying Frankie should move down like it's any of his business. **** Rogan.
