didn't know Freddie was disliked that much. What's the beef with him and Athers? Athers btw, is one of the best cricket writers/commentators. The guy really knows his stuff.
I imagine that he won't be thrown in at the deep end. If he was trying MMA with a Japanese MMA company they'd probably be having him fight Fedor or something.
I have just received this, no opponent named and up to 100 quid for a ticket?? Please... Just saw his Jacamo advert.... Johnny Vegas please return! I'm sorry, the guy's gonna get a severe beating, even Danny Williams NOW would pummel him. The guy just loves publicity and the celeb lifestyle, he hasn't buggered off since he retired from cricket with all those reality shows and **** adverts. Must have a real chip on his shoulder.
I like Freddie Flintoff, the story of him getting pissed out of his head and getting on a Pedalo to find Ian Botham, is the stuff legends are made of.
He turned up for practice during the 5-0 Ashes Tour completely pissed once and just slept through it. He was the Captain, and England were 2-0 down in the series. His whole 'professional LAD' schtick is a well cultivated gimmick, as is this boxing thing no doubt. And those comments about Atherton were ridiculous, especially coming from Flintoff, a bloke who seriously underachieved given his natural talent.
Tom Dallas would hammer him in 1 round.. Although don't think they will fight as Tom Dallas has signed with Golden Boy (read it on here)
