This is what we call the "south pole concept," i.e. standing at the south pole, the only possible direction one can walk is north. How could they not make you look smarter?

Paul Williams, Timothy Bradley and Devon Alexander were also mentioned as possible opponents by Bob Arum.

I believe you can judge a guy on his last two performances...especially when one performance was a KO loss (mentally anyway), and the other an indifferent performance after having a year away from the sport.

    I agree.

He took a tune-up which helps (not for facing the #1 P4P though), but it still comes down to the fact that he isn't in Pacquiao's league...no matter what weight class. He can't outbox him (I don't believe he has the speed or timing)...he hasn't got the footwork to cut the ring off. He may start the bout off trying to box a bit, but once he sees the speed...he will resort back to coming and trying to walk through Pacquiao's shots, which may end in a TKO.

I agree again, most fighters do learn from their losses...and Margarito is strong mentally to come back from that KO defeat to Mosley. He does have something to prove, but I can't see this being anymore competitive than the Cotto and Clottey bouts...I expect a similar gameplan to that used against De la Hoya, and Margarito will have no answer.

Definitely, but it's still not the Margarito who beat Cotto. Like Cotto hasn't been the same since his defeats to Margarito and Pacquiao.

The Cotto v Pacquiao bout would have been a little more competitive if Cotto hadn't fought Margarito. And this bout would probably have been slightly more competitive if Margarito hadn't been knocked out against Mosley, and then banned for a year.

I hate to say it but I pretty much agree with you. What's sad is there will people be defending this nonsense all the while trying to talk down on fights like Pac vs the Bradley vs Alexander winner.

Pac vs Bradley/Alexander is where its at. They would be a young, primed, undefeated champion coming off a big win, exactly the type of fighter that would be impressive for Pac to turn back at this stage.

Let Mosley regain some sort of form and momentum before fighting him, the fight is stupid at this point and makes no sense.

I am a fan of Pac but that is just the truth. I hope that Mosley was just a name drop and that he isnt seriously considered as the opponent. I think Pac and team will do the right thing, but I suppose Arum is the one in charge.

The Thread starter will only be happy when Pac fights some african american fighter anyone else wont do it for him regardless of how good a fighter he is, if Martinez beats williams and somehow Pac fights Martinez this clown will start a thread saying Pac is ducking Williams, why would he do that?cause Martinez isnt black and Williams is, remember this is the same guy that wanted Pac to fight Anthony Petterson instead of fighting Cotto, this dude is a joke.

As for the JMM fight, would people rather watch Floyd fight an absolute tomato can? We sometimes forget Floyd is a businessman. He knows he needs an easy fight after his long layoff (which he's entitled to) but he isn't going to pick a bum because that's not going to help him reach at least 1 million PPV sales. As low of a risk as it was for Floyd you have to appreciate the fact that JMM had gotten a chance. You can never underestimate the guy's determination. A handful of people including myself weren't 100% sure Floyd would win. As the old saying goes, "You never know what's going to happen in a fight." I know I'm digging up old bones but STOP shitting on Floyd for fighting JMM. I'd rather watch Pac fight a bloated Gamboa as a TUNE-UP than see him destroy a bum like Hector Velasquez.

In regards to the Pac and Floyd situation, there's ALWAYS going to be a balance. Both guys backed out of negotiations with Floyd being the last one. Both guys have ducked someone at one point or another. You have to remember - when Floyd came out of retirement, it was the fans who pushed him into a clash with Pac. He never targeted Manny therefore Mayweather shouldn't have felt obligation to fight Manny and Manny only. But now that Floyd has officially told his fans he'll eventually fight Pac, I'm giving Floyd the entire year of '11 to make the fight happen. No excuses. Failing to do so will result in clear-cut ducking although he can somewhat make up for it if he fights and beats a guy like Paul or Sergio (only if either guy is coming off a hot win).

:huh Is this an intelligent post I see? :scaredas:

I don't agree with Floyd fighting Paul or Sergio before Pacman next year though. If Pacman is fighting and Floyd is fighting they've both made such a fuss it should be each other. They'd both get plenty credit for fighting either of those two, but Pac vs May needs to happen if not only so we don't have to deal with all these crying fans.

but he is right, you have to think why pac hasn't fought a slick black american fighter when the history of boxing shows it very clear that they are the best type and style of fighters. You are the joke man, if pac wants to be considered for greatness he needs to fight all styles in boxing, not just plodders, come forward sluggers. Thats like amir khan only fighting feather fisted boxers:-(

We are also fans of pacroid, and a fan of boxing and as a fan we want to see him challenge the best to prove himself

List all the Slick, Black, fighters Pac passed on. And, to show you've done something resembling homework, be sure to include the circumstances around each fight not coming to fruition, meaning, who Pac fought instead and why he fought them rather the slick, black fighter.

    Thanks in advance! :thumbsup

    Yo Thanks Reppin'.

I never take any of these fools seriously. However, I have a great deal of respect for the posters who can disagree and totally tell me why they feel differently without being offensive and an ALL-OUT IDIOT. Examples:

Benny Blanco - Never agreed on ANYTHING, Including Boxing and Hoops...but always kept it ADULT!!! And we go back to 2004.

PhlLLA - He's a Pacfan and I am a Floyd Fan...But we Disagree LIKE MEN!!!

Juggernaut - We have "tussled" over an issue from time 2 time...But in the end, it's always a good clean fight with no punches "BELOW THE BELT".

Ringnut - My favorite Pacquiao fan Poster...PERIOD. Solid Poster, Strong Boxing Knowledge and always adds something of value to a thread!!!

I know I am forgetting a few really good posters that always seem to add something of value to any thread, whether they agree or disagree with the Thread Starter. So again, I don't trip on these fools, because you can tell who they are...A bunch of cowards who hide behind a username and have nothing but INTERNET COURAGE!!! They so easily call people names (***S AND RACIST) online when someone disagrees with them in a thread/post...yet when someone disagrees with them "in person"...THEY SAY NOTHING, Hence the term...
    "INTERNET COURAGE!!!!"

mark "too sharp" johnson at flyweight, pac fought some thai scrubs but karma got him and he got exposed to having a glass body for that

winner of soto-guzman, we all know arum kept on pushing for the winner of that IF and thats IF soto won, but we all know the slick black fighter won:deal
guzman called him out since his bantamweight days and he was ducked, he followed him until 130

nate campbell, the unified champ at 135 lbs at one time, instead we got DAVID "the dangerous:rofl" DiAZZZ:rofl:rofl:rofl

and then we all know after that, floyd who pac refuse the osdt test. And theres williams. Pac would have gotten Mad respect for me for fighting williams alone despite losing even if he don't fight floyd and williams is a more winnable fight than floyd. But the point alone that pac would fight the most tallest volume punching black american fighter not slick though will still get my utmost respect

the mosley that fought Mayweather gets stopped in 5 against Pac..

    Wouldn't have mattered.

I mean imagine Pac beating 2 over the hill legends in a span of 1 year. People would ban him from boxing.

The mosley fight proved that Mayweather has no power anyways and that he was looking for a paycheck ala Hopkins, Wright, Williams..

90% of what roach and bobby says is bull****. It takes some thinking to figure out which 10% is true.
