I think we are reading too much into one fight its not a trend yet, Khan's style under Roach has mainly been of a boxer safety first high guard working off the jab.

We got to give credit to Maidana, he kept coming forward and at times drew Khan into his fight, Khan felt the pace of moving around midway so had to lay on the ropes time to time he got his second wind around the 8th rd but then got hurt in the 10th rd, maybe he overtrained for this fight 12 week camp is too long and Khan said in an interview after the fight that he felt he over trained for this fight. Maidana a pressure fighter hunted Khan down all night, Khan had to fight at times he had no choice.

I think when Khan goes back to fighting a boxer again, Khan will revert to his old saftey first high guard working off his improved jab, not many fighters fight like Maidana.

well will see in his next fight....this one was justt not a good luck to me but he did what he had to do.... he could have also just stood there to weather the shotgun blast knowing maidana was already gassed...so just hang in there

People are taking way too much away from the Maidana fight.

It was a mixture of Maidana being better than everyone expected and Khan willingly taking shots to prove a point about his durability since Prescott.

He won't fight like that again anytime soon, I'm almost sure of it.

At least I hope he doesn't anyway.

The best thing Khan did was emulate Pac. The PEDs have made him unbelievably fast.

Exactly. Pacquiao telegraphs his punches which is why he had problems fighting counter punchers like JMM.

We have to give credit to Maidana who is great on the inside... the issue here was that Maidana got inside and wore down Khan's body

I want to see Maidana fight again ASAP!

Pac would knock Void out, but thanks to Void's cowardice, we will never see that fight. A woman beater is a coward.

I agree. Pacquiao's chin means he can fight in a way that Khan should not.

Its taking a fighters natural abilities and using those in the best manner , to copy any other fighter is going to get you in trouble.

For instance I will get criticism for this , but Manny stewart has ruined lots of really good fighters , because he has only one way of teaching. If you are tall and lean like Tommy Hearns he can make you a world beater. If you are short and stocky like a Duran he cannot improve on any of your natural qualities.

Khan is also susceptible to the overhand right the same punch that Floyd is blind against.

If anyone Actually WATCHED that recent fight versus Maidana...there were SO MANY FLAWS by Khan (both fighters really) that it was Hilariously Sad. Khan kept moving in circles then just stopped for NO reason, then laid against the ropes and allowed Maidana to just bang away. Now I asked myself over & over again, why would he do this?...and after watching the fight several times, it was soooo obvious that Khan was seriously gassed after round 7 (Both Fighters actually). During "Spurts" in the latter rounds you could see Khan getting a second wind and he'll throw a nice flurry or two...but continued to lay on the ropes and Let Maidana Bang away...and Because Maidana was gassed also...he did take advantage of those opportunities and UNLEASH FURY on Khan. Khan and Maidana will be stopped SOON ENOUGH!!!

Khan didnt appear gassed at all to me in rounds 8/9 Maidana did, he could barely get up for the 10th.
One thing I didnt egt is why he wasnt using his jab better and going to the body more, especially after dropping maidana, he should have been able to cruise to a win in the alter rounds, that lucky overhand right that stunned him caused to lose the alst 3 rounds on my card with 10 being a 10-8 round. I think he beats both bradley and alexander, he will unify in 2011.
