Because size didn't matter in one fight size never matters? What a silly thing to say. Size didn't matter against Oscar because he barely threw any punches. You've simultaneously compared Floyd to Oscar when discounting Floyd's reach advantage and Pac to Oscar when discussing the strategy for Pac to win, neatly avoiding the obvious point that all three are very different fighters, with very different styles, under different conditions.

Slan stone said it right,Mayweather will have to stink the joint out to win. If he engages pac(which we know he wont) he will lose or get kod,but throw that out cause that wont happen. I think Mayweather is gonna box smooth at times and capitalize on Pacs so-so defense, but I also see Pac forcing this fight and makin May take of on his specialized "Lance Armstrong bike". I think this will be a close controversial decision for ??????????

What did Roach expect Castillo to say considering that Manny was paying him?
All this pressure business wont work anywhere,we have heard this loads of times before

Wow, Pac has no jab. He has 2 left hands. What did Pac do to de la Hoya? Did he pound his face enough for ya? Aggression is gonna win this fight for the both of them. Pac is way more offensive than Floyd. Floyd did not have a comfortable lead on points against de la Hoya because of Oscar's effective aggression. Which explains why the judges had it so close. Oscar didn't have the speed and accuracy of Pac. This is the difference between Oscar's fight against Floyd and Oscar's fight against Pac. Pac has no problem in this weight class as he showed against Cotto. Size does not matter.

Whatever you say dude. Clearly you've already got this all figured out, so why even bother watching the fight?

Yea, you don't wanna hit anyone on hand to bone, not smart.

I'd normally agree with you that breaking down someones arms brings diminishing returns, but with Floyd that will work because he relies on his arms for everything or that they are so crucial to his defense. Also, because of his defense they're all that's exposed so I can see why Roach wants to punish him for his style. If Manny can slow his arms down, the fight just got more manageable in my book.

I think Pacquiao has lots of power. In fact he's got the sort of raw, visceral power that makes opponents fearful. Look at the vids of his last few fights. After the first round, you can literally see the change in ODH, Hatton, Cotto. The look on their faces change from one of confidence to that of dread, that creeping feeling that this hurts as the realization that it will be a very hard road. I remember Diaz was all challenging Pac to hit in him in the 1st round, but by the 2nd his face was red and he was covered up, cut and didn't want anymore of Pac teeing off on him. That swagger was gone by the 2nd and the fight was done.

Thus in short, I say Pacquiao does in fact have bruising power, and by an easy clip over Mayweather. In fact he's got more power than anyone Floyd's ever faced, and that he will be seriously shocked when he gets hit on those arms.

Pac's power is generated by his speed. He raises welts, cuts, bruises because his punches are sharp and quick. But to me he doesn't seem to hit with real thudding force, he just hits often and connects cleanly because he is so quick and throws from such awkward angles.

To me Cotto, Hatton, even DLH didn't seem intimidated by his power, they simply couldn't deal with how quick he was in conjunction with having pretty good power. You don't have to have truly punishing power to put the hurt on someone when you can basically hit them at will. Outside of Hatton those fights all ended late after prolonged beatings and LOTS of clean punches from Pac. If he really had that sort of brute power you'd think those guys would have gone down much quicker.

I can't think of anyone at welterweight who has the sort of heavy hands that I think would be required to break a guy down purely by hitting his guard. And personally I think DLH at 154 (plus another 10 to 15 pounds by fight time) hits harder than Pac, but he didn't have the speed or ability to land flush on Mayweather very often.

Anyway, you have to factor in that throwing at a guy's guard is a good way to get counterpunched in return. I'm not a proponent of wasting punches and unless you're a guy like Paul Williams who has the size to do it from relatively safety I always things it's better to systematically look for openings, rather than banging on a guy just to put leather on him, because that's a good way to give him chances to hit you back.

Oscar snapped Void's head back a lot. Oscar beat Void but Void's judges gave him the fight, same with Castillo fight.

Void has to have all his fights with his venue, his judges, his referee, his commentators, everything or he will refuse to fight. Ward learned from that.

Ward refused to fight in the tournament unless he got "all" of his fights in his home town.
