    Seems like it :think

Think he might have dodged a bullet there though :yep

It's a serious problem with promoters in Europe - they are too reluctant to match prospects against each other, in the US there is sufficient depth to keep fighters apart but still progressing, too often here a fight doesn't get made that is an easy sell, one of them goes on and gets chinned in a world title fight and the other loses to someone he shouldn't because of a lack of motivation.

The better solution would be to stick them in there, the winner advances, the loser gets back in line. Both are better off, the winner has probably had a hard fight and a learning curve, the loser misses the possibility of a real hiding off a proven world class opponent, and can also learn from the loss and come back stronger rather than being effectively ruined.

I'm sure you know this already, I'm just having a rant :good

Pavlik can be beaten at that weight (Golovkin would school him imo and would end up stopping him) but McEwan has not anywhere near the skill to do it. I think Roach knows this too but isn't it his job to say this stuff? Hype up his fighter and that malarkey. It's his job.

McEwan should fight Andy Lee next month. Where his flaws will be exposed :yep

It may be that Freddy Roach has had a brainstorm and is making wild exaggerated claims on behalf of a Scottish bum who fights out of his gym. Or could there be another scenario? Could this be it?
Freddy Roach is one of the world`s most successful boxing coaches and for just under 4 years he has mentored Craig McEwan through 18 unbeaten bouts and watched him develop from a stylish but mercurial amateur into a strong, dangerous, versatile pro. He has worked with him in the gym on an almost daily basis and has had him spar with numerous top pros like Hopkins, Forrest, Wright and Margarito, all of whom praised the quality of McEwan`s work. Now Freddy, not a man normally associated with unfounded, extravagant claims, feels he is now seeing enough quality there to suggest that Craig is ready for the top flight and is so confident in this belief, that he is prepared to name, specifically, two current world champions whom he believes his fighter is now capable of beating.
No doubt there are many other boxing experts, like the ones above, who will snear and scoff at Freddy`s claims. After all, what does Freddy Roach know about boxing?

Freddy talks a lot of **** and hypes up his own boxers. He is associated with making extravagant claims. Anything he says about his own boxers must be taken with a large grain of salt. Every single one of his boxers are "future world champions"? You're hyping up someone who doesn't deserve it. Let's see how McEwan fights against someone who is at Euro level and we shall talk again. He knows plenty about boxing and he knows that you have to hype people up (even if you don't believe it). Its part if the business.

    Huh? :huh

Belghecham is not quite Euro level but still ahead of anyone he McEwan has ever beaten, someone like Zbik, Oral or Prozka would be a decent step up for him.

That will be the only thing in the pros mcewan does better than andy.Mcewan doesnt have the power to hurt andy and most definitely doesnt have the skills to out box him.
