We'll see how he does against Duddy, who is by far(and this is a sad statement), the best fighter Jr has faced in his career to this point. Even with Roach, I'm expecting it to be rough on Jr, as he showed very little pop at Middleweight in his last fight, and his defense is putrid. If Roach can guide him to a dominant win over Duddy, then he definitely works miracles in there.
Although i think he will beat Duddy, i dont think he is a real middleweight. I think he could fight at welter and shouldnt be fighting any higher than JM. However he will be able to get away with it against Duddy.
I was impressed with Jnr earlier on but nt anymore, I think technically he is skilled but nt to the elite level, maybe Freddy can help him but I'm leaning towards Duddy in this 1
Duddy was almost out on his feet against Vanda in the last round of their fight. This is going to be a good fight against a couple of fairly evenly matched guys. If Duddy does not step up his game I expect him to lose. Jr. doesn't punch as well as Big George or slip as well Sweet Pea, but he doesn't need to as Duddy eats punches like I eat Skittles.
Here is where we agree D. I said pretty much the exact same thing. But I think most folks are comparing him unfairly to his father. There will never be anther JCC Superstar to come around. And to try to compare Jr to Sr is very hard for Chavez Jr. to cope with. He's a good boxer...he's definitley skilled. He's got the tools and the blood line to be a good boxer if not great. The whole thing is he's shown some signs that he's taken longer to matrure into a seasoned pro. he's been brought a long very slow and that may have hurt him a bit. With Roach I think it's going to be a good relationship and one that will garner Jr's full potential.
Damn.....you must want to kill yourself. If a "punch drunk and shot to ****" boxing trainer has a better life and more money in the bank than you I'd be miserable too.
