Roach - "How good is the guy, really? Antonio Margarito knocked Martinez out, and that was at 147 pounds. (Kermit) Cintron beat him, also (actually, it was a controversial draw). He’s a great athlete, and Pete is also, but Pete knows boxing, and Martinez’s boxing skills are limited," Roach told The Grand Rapids Press.

Does he really want to be talking about past losses?? If he's so flawed why not bring Manny at 154?

I wish he'd shut up about him. Roach knows he ain't about to go up and fight him and Sergio can't get any lower than 154. Sergio should probably keep quiet about Pac also, but at least he wants to fight them

  3. Because mannys gets put to sleep by martinez, and he doesnt fit the

1 bad ko+1 bad come back fight formula.

He won't put Manny in there with him but he doesn't mind making some money by putting in Quillin in w/ Sergio

Martinez is too big (smaller than Margarito), too heavy (probably same weight as Margo), and too unknown for Pacquao (#3 pound for pound, knockout of the year, brightest star next to Pac and Floyd).

But Martinez can get a fight with Pac. All he has to do is loose by a horrific knockout, preferably to Mayweather, get a year or so of inactivity and make 140 lbs, because otherwise he has an advantage.

Wouldn't be so sure about that. Pac always says he will talk over his next opponent with Bob, Freddie, and Koncz.

Also, the dude who said Pirog would starch Sergio is a ****.

I don't expect Sergio to stay unbeaten through his retirement, but at this point I cannot think of anyone who can beat him or will be able to (Mayweather/Pacquiao aside; and I could see Alvarez or Lara being capable in a couple fights or likely years).

I cant see Pacuao beating Martinez. Sergio is all wrong for him, he has heart, a great punch, quality chin and he is not dead on his feet. Not to mention that even at 154 he will be physically on par with Pac.

Quillin is his toughest matchup at the weight. He won't go the way of Lemieux or Kirkland. I want Pete to earn his shot, take on a real contender or beltholder, but I would look forward to that fight.

Floyd shut Roach up before in the De La Hoya fight. And notice how Martinez doesn't mention Mayweather and only Pac, because he knows Floyd will shut him up too if he opens that sexy mouth of his.
