Just watched the weigh in. Same as with Pascal, who had to tell Froch to look him in the eye, when they stared each other down, on three separate occasions Carl broke. Its so funny how this guy has the whole world fooled that he's some hard guy, when, as Groves has been saying all along, he can't stand the heat, he can't look the other guy in the eye, he goes to pieces, as Groves put it.

There are 4 reasons why somebody would avoid eye contact with you

    1 - he's shy
    2 - he's afraid
    3 - he's hiding something
4 - he just really dislikes you

In the Froch-Groves case, i'm inclined to say it's (4)

Only a youth, or a fool, think that staredowns mean a damn thing.

Staredowns are fun but they contribute very little to the outcome of a match.

Maybe they could shake someones nerves and intimidate them a bit, but a punch to the face surely is more telling.

Groves definitely has the upper hand when it comes to long quiet stare downs - even when he's supposed to actually be talking - maybe there's another sport where it's a genuine advantage.
