Froch: Ok Joe, you can stay retired then

After being told that Joe Calzaghe has no interest in coming out of retirement to face him, Carl Froch has said he does not want to take on the Welshman anyway.
Froch secured the defence of his WBC super-middleweight crown with a late KO against Jermain Taylor on Saturday and called out the returned former champion on the back of that win.
However, Enzo Calzaghe labelled Froch a 'muppet' for making such a claim and said his son has no interest in abandoning his retirement to fight a figher he considers overrated. As a result, Froch says he was not serious anyway, that he was just proving a point and that Calzaghe should now enjoy an earned retirement.
"Calzaghe needs to stay retired. He's finished, he's done what he's done,” the 31-year-old was quoted as saying by The Sun.
“He's eating plenty of food now, he's drinking and he's enjoying his life — and so he should because he's had a fantastic career.
"But the reason I called him out at the end of the Taylor fight was because he said I wasn't good enough to fight him and I'm not proven at world level.
"I gave him my answer by beating Taylor and he who laughs last, laughs longest.
"I've had the last laugh now with Calzaghe. I've won that fight in style and he's got nothing bad to say about me. He's retired so I'll leave him alone."
All that said, Froch finished by saying: "If he does want to come out of retirement - and he was talking about it - the only justifiable fight for him is me.
"We'll see what happens. Bigger names than Calzaghe have come out of retirement so he might just fancy the job."

calzaghe would beat froch by an embarrassing UD.so why froch keeps trying to get him to come out, i do not know.
it is getting a bit annoying now and froch needs to move on as he will have other good fighters lining up to fight him now and can make his money that way and possibly keep his title too.

calzaghe should issue froch a challenge, beat kessler and he will come out of retirement to fight him.

Apparently Froch does not place much value on that Zero at the end of his record.

Froch loves the publicity of calling out Joe Calzaghe, thats all, I think that he surely must know that hes not good enough to fight him. Its strange how he only started calling out JC to this extent after Calzaghe stepped up to LHW.

Thats what throwbacks do. Joe needs that 0. Froch is willing to put it on the line. Thats the hall mark of a REAL fighter.

It's not the 0 anything for Froch. He just wants the money. If he really wanted to fight Joe, he shouldn't have offered a 50/50 split. Calling out Joe just gives him publicity off of Calzaghe's back. Don't be fooled, Froch is not a household name...he needs Joe to do that. All Joe has Froch wants. But he ain't getting it.

And what's this 'putting it on the line' bollox? An unbeaten boxer entering the ring each time puts it on the line. Joe did it 46 times for fark sakes. A 'REAL' fighter? What the fark are you on about?

Neither was Joe before he fought Jeff Lacy. Or has your memory forgotten that? And incase you never noticed at least 70% of Joes competition was absolute trash. You must be one of those new fans...
