Well Kovalev just said he had no heart so I wouldn't be surprised if he was bitter about that, Kovalve showed him no respect post fight.
Probably. Kovalev knocked her out though whereas Froch only schooled her Abraham style using the pawed range finder chap.
Pascal was wobbled like 10 times during the fight, got knocked down and then got stopped. He's going to have a hard time convincing anyone.
He fought Froch a long time ago at 168 sounds like he's just saying it so other people aren't so scared to fight him or to goad Kov in to a rematch.
I watched the interview. He said Froch hits harder, but what make Kovalev a killer is that he is so precised with his bomb that they almost always connect, while Froch is a little more wild throwing them and miss the target. Basically saying: Froch throws nuclear bomb from a continent away; Kovalev throw TNT with a surgical precision.
Froch doesn't punch that hard. Kovalev has seriously hurt everyone he's fought. Froch has 4 KO's in his last 10 with 1 being a BS stoppage(Groves 1)
Pascal's statement is contradicted by the evidence of the eyes. Kovalev's punches, both jabs and power shots, had considerably more effect on Pascal than Froch's had. We cannot know what Pascal subjectively felt from the shots, but we can see how they moved his body around the ring and we can see the effect they had on his ability to maintain upright posture. Therefore, I would look for an explanation for his statement, somewhere other than the relative force and power of Kovalev and Froch's shots. (E.g. they hate each other, Kovalev has been talking sh!t about him...)
I'm not sure Pascal hates him or is bitter, he didn't trash Kovalev, he was complimentary about his accuracy. I think it's more likely pride/machismo. He doesn't want to admit that he was hurt.
If that's what he meant, then his logic is a bit off, (unless he meant to say THROWS harder, instead of HITS harder). First off, we can agree that he can't really tell anything about those of Froch's punches that, as he put it "...a little more wild throwing them and miss the target. " If they missed, how could he tell ? Secondly, if the Froch punches that did land were actually harder, then we would have see them having greater effect than the effect we saw from Kovalev's punches. And as this wasn't close to what was witnessed, the kindest thing we can say about Pascal here is that he was mistaken.
Pascal has a pretty damn good chin and he was being thrown around the ring like a Flyweight. So yea I'm not buying it.
