I don't really get the hate for Froch. The guy speaks from the heart and more than likely was telling the truth.

Even as a Froch fan that was pretty embarassing trying to play out that tough upbringing act. So because he didn't go to private school and he had a few fights at school he had a tough upbringing?

Funny guy. "Did I leave a cigarette lit?" haha. But seriously. It's more hand-to-hand, knives than guns. Although, there are places that are known for gun crime.

I have hear that Parts of the Philipines are controlled by Warlords that will have you killed in an instant.

Not to mention Pinoy's are the best at knife and stick fighting... some of these guys that are members of the Geek Squad are good with a knife...

Pac's dad ate his dog as a punishment...causing him to runaway and live on his own.

Frochy got a motorbike from his daddy...who is tougher? I pick Pac over Froch

I'm not going to comment on the Froch interview because, frankly, who gives a ****? However, I think some of you have displayed staggering ignorance in relation to crime in England in general, and Nottingham in particular. It is far from the idyllic paradise that many of you seem to picture it to be. Obviously there is a wide variance, and there are plenty of affluent areas where crime isn't a real problem. Much like the US and everywhere else in the developed world. But that doesn't mean that everywhere is like that; far from it. We (the English, I'm not from Nottingham) have a lot of problems with street crime and violence. Don't think that just because gun crime isn't as prevalent here (in a country that has strict anti-gun laws) as it is in your home land (where it seems as though they are given out as prizes in breakfast cereal ;)), that violence somehow isn't a problem. The riches are not in the slightest evenly spread and there are plenty of shitty areas. Nottingham has been a priority area for rejuvenation for a long time which has resulted in various resources being ploughed into the city. It's still viewed as a rough area, on the whole.

An independent report (that mirrors one that has been running for over 10 years in the US) found it to be one of the worst cities in the country, in terms of crime rate (specifically crimes of violence). The study can be found here (pdf at the top of the page):
http://www.reform.co.uk/Research/CriminalJustice/CriminalJusticeArticles/tabid/113/smid/378/ArticleID/636/reftab/74/t/Urban%20crime%20rankings/Default.aspx

Sorry for the essay post but it's pretty annoying having to wade through post after post of people talking absolute shite about something they clearly have no real understanding of. A good friend of mine was stabbed to death outside his school, on a packed highstreet, at about 4pm. The reason? They wanted his mobile phone. This was far, far from a freak incident. This happened a long time ago now but if anything the problem's got worse. Many of you probably think London is this great place, full of money, where only posh people live but for most of us, it simply isn't like that. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I've had it worse than any of you. Just that it's not as great over here as some of you seem to think. And by 'great' I mean safe; I know many of you don't like the English. ;)
