there are many obvious reasons why Ward is a favorite to beat Froch, but you have managed to come up with something which I do not see being a factor.
Ward isn't about speed. He's a very calculating fighter. I think Froch needs to set a high workrate, not let Ward be comfortable, and Froch needs to be a little dirty as well. As i see it Froch can actually use his reach and just keep a distance, make some openings and fire off combos and get dirty. Ward comes rushing in sometimes from the backfoot. If Froch keeps his composure he can maintain a distance where the speed isn't such a factor, and maybe counter with some of his own punches. Froch should not get on the inside too much, if he get's too close i think he should hold or try to get out of there.
Ward may well be faster than Froch but he won't be able to keep out of harms way for 12 rounds unless he literally runs away like Dirrell did. Ward also does not have enough power to keep Froch at bay. Froch will just walk through Ward'd punches to land his own.
Like I said ... Tarver said the same exact thing during round 7 ... Tarver's exact words were "speed kills" , and that Froch simply cannot adjust to the speed that he is seeing.
the speed difference was so apparent early, I cant believe some posters saying speed was not a factor going in it was one of the more troubling things for Froch
Damn don't you hate when they bump threads...! Froch was fustrated and kept at bay cause he realized that those punches he talked him self into belivieng were feather duster puchces Hurt.. Froch could't land and he was get stuck all day everyday.. :hi:
