Yea JT was beating Froch. Taylor one of those athletically gifted with speed and power, but little to no skills. Can't question his heart tho. If he only had paid attention to the smaller details, pace himself, think in the ring, take his time, he'd still be champ today. I will say the first 6-7 rounds he'd give anyone hell. He struggled in fights he shouldn't of.

He needs to take lessons from Vitali on how to relax in the ring. Then maybe he wouldn't gas and his confidence would go up. Upward spiral type thing.

I was referring more to the fact that Chavez stopped him late in the fight, and was behind.... rather than the merits of the decision.

Saying that I think that Steele was exactly right to stop it, one of the best decisions ever made. Taylor clearly couldn't continue, and Steele isn't the timekeeper.

Taylor lost himself that fight by fighting the last round like a man who needed a stoppage to win, Duva gave him the wrong instructions.

    I agree.

Taylor ought to have defeated Froch 116-112ish, but used up so much in the first half of the fight.... I think in all honesty he underestimated Froch.

Not many British or European world champions travel to the States for a first defence, usually it's a handful of easy ones before taking anything remotely risky. Taylor will have known that, and probably thought that Carl was cashing out on himself.

    How wrong he was.

Taylor was up probably by 2 rounds going into the 12th. Regardless though, Frochy would have pulled close with the 10-8 round in the 12th. Epic ****ing win.

I think I'm missing something here.I would love to see a Froch-Pavlik fight but the right way to do it would've been a Pavlik-Bute eliminator with the winner getting a crack at the champ.
Despite Froch being an overwhelming favourite, you would get a few great rounds before Kelly folded.
    It's a great fight,but if I was a Pavlik fan I don't think I'd want it for my guy.
There have been much worse decisions (especially lately) than Froch-Dirrell,but the point about Taylor was,Froch snatched victory from the jaws of defeat and that's a big part of why he's one of the most respected fighters in the game right now, flaws and all.
