yikes:yikes Bodysnatcher, is that really you?!:admin Are you (also) (therefore) saying Froch should be rated at No.1 at SMW?
Sorry, mate, but this is dead wrong, and I'm surprised you fell into this trap, because you usually school people who make these schoolboy errors...:huh ...either you rate fighters on what they've achieved or you rate them on ability/talent/h2h predictions, or on a combination of all these things. Now, if you rate Froch on ability/talent/h2h predictions, you cannot possibly rank them higher than 2, after Kessler. If you rank him on what he's achieved, you cannot just go on whether he got a W or a L...you also have to look at the manner of the victory, EVEN if you assume that in itself, a win over Taylor at SMW counts for more than all the other wins Kessler or Bute got over their best opponents at SMW. ...so you can't, again, rank Froch higher than 2. I am happy with Froch fans ranking Froch at 2, because there is a decent case to be made for him beating Bute and Andrade, but I don't think that a win over Taylor, especially when you look at the manner of that win, counts for more than what Bute's achieved, for example...and I don't think I can be accused of bias here...but anyway...so, I don't think that you can rank Froch as high as 2 based on what he's already achieved... ...Kessler is clearly No.1 as long as all of these are still true:- 1. He hasn't retired and is still fighting at least once a year 2. He doesn't look worse when performing against C level fighters than would be expected of him 3. The winner of Bute v. Andrade II ( as long as Bute doesn't lose to Green) hasn't faced an unbeaten Froch yet. good
OK, mate... fair enough. I am happy with you Froch fans having your moment in the sun. I picked the wrong guy at the weekend, so I'm not going to argue picks for at least 29 days, or raise my eyebrows when people go overboard a bit.:good
people may be going overboard, thats there perogative... though im a big "carl who" fan,i tend to think of myself as having a slighly more balanced view in all things "serpentesque".. i liken him to a modern day nigel benn, for sheer endurance, heart and the ability to actually put it on the line, boxing needs more carl whos!!!!!!!!!!
Good points made by both Decebal & Bodysnatcher. Not sure whereabouts in the top 4 I'd place him at the moment though.
Even I would put him no.2 behind Kessler, he probably just gets ahead of Bute, not too much in it. And boxrec is a piece of **** when it comes to that, their p4p rankings is a joke!
Everyone knows boxrec rankings is a computer system, even boxrec acknowledge that the system is ****.
